The French government has effectively torn up the social contract with the people of Paris and France.

The British government has done much the same. We pay ever-increasing taxes and, in return, face violent crime, sexual violence, declining public services and the perception of two-tier policing.

Should mass unrest erupt, the public increasingly believe they will be left to fend for themselves. No protection, no justice, and an ever-growing tax burden.

This parasitic relationship between the state and its citizens cannot continue indefinitely.
