Goodness, y'all! Just imagine for a second what your neighborhood and city would look like if Jesus followers did this kind of thing year around!!!

The missional opportunity of Halloween: a🧵
Is there any Holiday among us more missional than Halloween?
✅Walk + talk in your streets with actual neighbors
✅Open your home (or at least your front door) to strangers
2/3
✅Give small gifts away to everyone regardless of status/need
✅Meet new people and form ongoing friendships ✅Stand around eating and drinking and laughing together
✅End up talking about things that really matter
@bradleybrisco Not sure why this isn't getting traction since the church needs to hear this sooooooo much right now. Even "mission" has been consumer-ized by the church.
To effectively check whether or not you're serious about engaging in this kind of missional innovation, ask: Is our church willing to support these innovative efforts with real dollars from our church's financial resources? 8/8
Missional Innovation + Imagination

There was no worship gathering this Sunday at North End Collective, but there was most definitely church happening around a coffee cart and waffle bar at our house yesterday.
Thankful to those who made this moment possible!

@mattdabbs That's good, Matt! & I hear you about it not being the finish line (this is such a necessary paradigm shift for so many) but I wonder if thinking of it as the start line discounts the disciple's journey that begins with the simple decision to follow Jesus in the first place?
Read this entire thread. All of it. Every word. 💯
This shift in thinking is a return to Scripture’s missional framework and is foundational for the church if it is to be serious about engaging the post Christian and increasingly secular age.
We need to stop perpetuating a misguided view of church! 🧵
If God is a missionary God then we as his people are missionary people. Therefore, the church doesn’t just SEND missionaries; the church IS the missionary. Individually and collectively we are the sent body of Christ.
