Often overshadowed by the B-17, the B-24 actually holds the record as the most-produced American aircraft of the entire war (18,482). Attended the Bushy Parl's place in D-Day tour yesterday as part of these commemorative events - early 1944 it became Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF), the centre for planning Operation Overlord, the invasion of Europe during WW2.

@richard_duckett There are several pictures of Major Milner included in the published diaries of Major Trofimov: 'A Most Irregular War ' including this one with the caption: 'Maj. Milner with his Orderley at Bolo camp' where he was supervising supplies at the final destination.

All his uniforms and memorabilia were found in a garage in mint condition a couple of years ago. Uniform looks like it was just taken off. He died in the 1960s.
