It’s true that Paul Ryan’s preferred policy would have paid for this by ruining the lives of the poorest people in America & voucherizing Medicare.
But his revealed preference was that he’d take tax cuts without any offsets above fiscal responsibility again and again and again.
Paul Ryan took debt so seriously that he voted for the tax cuts that did this at only 31 years old, and again at 33 years old, and again at 40 years old, and again at 42 years old, and again at 47 years old.
He retired before he could do it yet again at 55 years old.
@MattBoxer94 This mess is going to end up hurting Democrats in the midterms. It might not be enough to matter, but there will be young men who thought about voting Democratic who will stay home. There will be young men who thought about staying at home who vote Republican.
If my years among conservative Catholics taught me anything, it’s that they’ll spew a lot of censorious poison to advance a suffocating, puritanical worldview.
I don’t need it from them, nor the Evangelicals, nor the Orthodox Jewish version, nor the Muslim version.
@GayRicanDad I don’t have kids and that doesn’t matter. Homophobes don’t even want to let your stupid butt near kids. What’s taught in schools and gay marriage are two separate issues. Your argument is ridiculous.
@GayRicanDad What you’re saying doesn’t even make any sense and I don’t even really want to know your tortured and stupid logic behind it. You’ve bought into religious right bullcrap. You are a Chicken for Colonel Sanders.
They want to recreate 2017-18 or even the late Obama era campus rape moral panic which lead to 2 of the biggest journalistic hoaxes of the last decade. Telling that the wokescolds have run out of gas and want a remix of old hits
What is the world's most overrated problem?
It's easily climate change.
You can trust the experts. Climate change is real and it's happening. But the experts also do estimates of the damage, and the vast majority come out to less than 10% of world GDP by 2100.
That's not 10% poorer than today. It's 10% poorer than we otherwise would be. But if we increase GDP growth by less than 0.2 percentage points a year, it'll more than cover the likely effects of climate.
Getting off fossil fuels also has costs, and there are OECD projections where doing so doesn't even pay for itself by 2100.
Meanwhile, as temperatures go up, deaths from natural disasters have collapsed as increasing wealth allows people to better adjust to changing climate and weather.
Climate hysteria needs to be understood in the larger context of Westerners being enamored by the idea that we are evil for sinning against Mother Earth, who will eventually take her revenge.
This contradicts our history as a species, where growth and technology rather than restraint are what solve problems and increase human flourishing. https://t.co/u27n2Up5ar
Sydney Sweeney thinks her naked body ad sexualizing women is funny. And yet she refuses to talk about her political standing cuz she ‘doesn’t do politics’.
I stand with all real women and girls who look up to real women in sports.
I’ve seen enough.
My honest take on the Sydney Sweeney ad:
We’re gonna lose the next election to a republican again because we are just so unserious with what we (liberals) get upset about.
