Télécoms Sans Frontières is the world’s first NGO focusing on emergency-response technologies.
TSF has been involved in over 150 major crises in more than 80 countries, providing communications to more than 11 million people and almost 1,000 NGOs.
As Mayotte begins its recovery phase, TSF is focusing on areas where the network and electricity remain scarce.
🙏 Thank you to all our partners and supporters who make these actions possible! Together, we reconnect communities in crisis.
Just over 3 weeks after Cyclone Chido, basic services such as access to water and electricity remain limited. TSF teams have bee providing emergency communications in the hardest-hit areas most deprived communities in the North & West areas.

A resident of Ouangani shared this emotional story with our team:
"When I called my sister, she cried! She was so happy! She called: Mamaaa! It was really emotional!"
Reconnecting with loved ones is vital during emergencies. ❤️
These operations include work in some of the most deprived neighborhoods, or bidonvilles, where basic services are severely lacking. Alongside other NGOs, TSF is helping bring connection and hope to vulnerable communities.

In the aftermath of Cyclone Chido, TSF has been working tirelessly in Mayotte’s hardest-hit areas. So far, we’ve provided:
✅ 900+ Wi-Fi connections
✅ 100+ free calls
...to reconnect families and access vital info in the North & Northwest.
By providing vital communication and connectivity, access to information and digital inclusion, we contributed to psychological relief, safety, and hope for people in vulnerable situations.
Thank you to our teams, partners, and supporters for making this work possible in 2024. Together, let’s make 2025 a year of compassion, action, and resilience.
#NewYear#Humanitarian#SolidarityInAction
While we celebrate New Years' Eve tonight, let us not forget those who cannot. Let us commit to standing in solidarity, bringing connection and hope to those who need it most.
This year, we’ve stood with people and communities in crises, in different parts of the world.
After such a traumatic experience, free Wi-Fi open to all provides significant psychological support for those affected. TSF is carrying out mobile connectivity operations in disaster-stricken communities on the north and north-west coasts of the island for 200 persons / day.
"Les premiers jours, tout le monde était focus sur : qui est en vie ? Je connais des gens qui ont marché jusqu'à Mamoudzou ou Iloni [environ 5h de marche] pour trouver un point de connexion et rassurer leur famille." - Yassira, habitante de Tsingoni

TSF is fully mobilized in Mayotte to support those impacted by the cyclone. Communication is key to reconnect families and coordinate relief efforts, especially in isolated areas.
