I want to remind my northern brothers and sisters that in 2003, President Bola Tinubu offered the ACN platform to another northerner person Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to contested for the president of the federal republic of Nigeria
Again in 2007, when Vice President Atiku Abubakar was harassed, intimidated, dehumanized and chased out of the PDP, he found refuge in the land of Bourdillon, which provided him with a platform to contest for the presidency of this country.
This gentleman seated here is his friend and deserves some respect.
Vice President Kashim Shettima.

STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT
PRESIDENCY RESPONDS TO GOVERNOR MAKINDE’S CLAIM ON NLNG DIVIDENDS
The Presidency wishes to clarify Governor Seyi Makinde’s claim that the Federal Government is withholding ₦250 billion in NLNG dividends for each state of the Federation.
At the 2027 Budget Stakeholders’ Consultative Engagement held at the Olola Ogunlana Hall, International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, on Friday, Makinde claimed the funds would not be released until after the 2027 elections. He further claimed that the Federal Government had spent the money.
“Each state was supposed to get ₦250 billion. We had already identified projects that would expand Oyo State’s economy. But they have now said the money will not be paid until after the election. Is the election more important than the people of Nigeria?” the governor said.
Makinde's latest claim that the Federal Government is withholding the NLNG dividend windfall is false and should be disregarded.
Here are the facts the public should know about how the Federation Account is managed and how money is shared among the three tiers of government. Even as a one-off distribution, ₦250 billion to each of the 36 states amounts to ₦9.0 trillion, excluding the Federal Government, the FCT, and the 774 local councils.
Under the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) formula, states receive 26.72% of the distributable Federation Account revenue. For the states’ share alone to reach ₦9 trillion, total NLNG dividends paid into the Federation Account would have to exceed ₦33.68 trillion (about $25 billion) in a single declaration.
NLNG has never paid $25 billion in dividends to the Federation Account in a single payout.
NLNG and Historical Dividend Context:
NLNG has paid approximately $21.5 billion in dividends to the Federation over the last 25 years, with less than $3 billion realised since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office.
Therefore, any claim that a single payout exceeds the company’s entire lifetime distribution to the Federation—and is being withheld—defies basic logic and economic reality.
We expect Governor Makinde to be more measured in his public conduct and utterances. Since he embarked on his presidential bid, he has chosen to play politics by making misleading claims rather than presenting verifiable facts. Indeed, he has turned false, unguarded statements and claims into an art form.
He once described the huge financial flow from the federation account to states, including Oyo, as 'voodoo'.
Under Nigerian law, Governor Makinde is free to pursue his presidential ambition. He should desist from making falsehoods and disinformation the hallmarks of his campaign.
We urge the public to disregard these unfounded claims, which serve only to mislead citizens and stoke needless disaffection against the Federal authorities.

An evening of warm friendship and meaningful conversations. I extend my warmest wishes to Dr. Hamzat as he pursues his ambition to lead Lagos State, wishing him every success in the journey ahead.

Yesterday, history was made in Abuja as Vice President Kashim Shettima officially unveiled the national headquarters of Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A). ✊🏾
#ArewaForAsiwaju#A4A
Arewa for Asiwaju was formed because many in the North have not fully noticed the appointments of prominent northerners, the infrastructure projects, and the deliberate support for the region’s economy, including the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development to strengthen livestock rearing, the main livelihood of millions.
A4A simply exists to highlight these efforts so they are not ignored. 👌🏾

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE
PRESIDENT TINUBU INAUGURATES PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL, EMPHASISES READINESS TO RENEW COVENANT WITH NIGERIANS
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), declaring that the party is ready and united to renew its covenant with Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
At the ceremony at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, President Tinubu charged council members and party leaders to demonstrate unity, commitment, and dedication as they prepare for the campaign, while keeping the administration’s governance priorities firmly on track.
The President expressed confidence in the PCC and the party's ability to work together toward its objectives, stressing that unity, discipline, and a shared sense of purpose would be essential to the task ahead.
" As I stand before you with a heart full of gratitude and spirit full of resolve, it is my honour to inaugurate the presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 General Election. I thank all of you for the last election, but no one gets credit for an incomplete assignment until you deliver the next election, until you deliver your electoral wards, until you deliver the votes," he said.
The President also acknowledged the advice of the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who counselled him not to let the rigours of the election campaign distract him from his responsibilities of governance.
In his speech, Uzodimma assured the President that the governors and other party leaders would do their best to deliver the right message to Nigerians during the campaign.
President Tinubu said the advice was timely, noting that while the PCC-APC would intensify its political mobilisation, his administration remained committed to delivering on its promises and addressing the needs and aspirations of Nigerians.
“However, I will still make time to speak directly with Nigerians even as you lead the campaign in the states and local government areas. We have bills to pay. The American creditors cannot wait. We want those investors to come in and invest for the future of our children," the President said.
President Tinubu called on members of the campaign council to conduct their activities responsibly, engage Nigerians constructively, and highlight the administration's policies and programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The President also commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for his oratory and patriotic approach to national development, calling his speech excellent.
He commended Lagos State Governor Babajide Samwo-Olu and his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, for their contributions to the success he recorded during his term as governor of the state, especially in taming the encroachment by the Atlantic Ocean.
"There is a limit, but there is no limit in daring. We dared the Atlantic Ocean, and the result is the Atlantic City in Lagos", he said.
Vice President Kashim Shettima earlier commended the President's courage and conviction in deepening democracy in the country.
He cited the President's support for former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, in 2007 to contest the Presidency on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
The Vice President berated the former Vice President Atiku for belittling the office of the President.
" You can call him Bola, if you like, call him Adekunle, but he is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria," Shettima said.
Shettima also slammed National Democratic Movement presidential candidate Peter Obi for peddling bogus statistics and often comparing Nigeria with other countries without context.
