A tiger strayed into a human-dominated landscape in Andhra Pradesh. What happened next tested every rule of wildlife management under pressure. @TSatarkar@resqct team was called in by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department to assist in the capture.
A tiger from Maharashtra. A team from Maharashtra. In service of Andhra Pradesh, a state that chose to give safe haven to this magnificent animal.
What followed was one of the most challenging captures we have ever been part of. A crowd that had never seen a tiger before. Panic, pressure, and intensity at a scale we had never experienced. The tiger was captured safely. Health-checked. Radio-collared. And successfully reintroduced into the wild. This is what frontline conservation looks like: Science and guts. Planning and pressure. Skill and nerve. We do it because we believe we can and because the animal deserves nothing less.
Deepest gratitude to the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department for placing their trust in us. We also sincerely thank the District Administration, District Police, and every official, organisation, and frontline team member who stood by us and coordinated tirelessly through the operation. And to our donors, thank you for powering the teams and systems that make this work possible.

Promoting responsible wildlife behaviour feels like running on a treadmill—just when you gain ground, influencers hit the reset button with their reckless antics. The internet is a breeding ground for bad examples, and the masses, eager to emulate, keep the cycle spinning. Progress gets made, only to be undone by viral irresponsibility.
Feel like throwing chatting and forwarding apps in the bin... nothing like a good forward to keep the nonsense alive!

Leopards living on the edges of cities (where agricultural fields and fragmented forest patches meet the expanding urban sprawl) sometimes stray in while searching for food. But a wrong turn or mistimed move can leave them trapped. Swift action is key to keeping both wildlife and people safe. Thankfully, this Sunday morning rescue wrapped up in under two hours thanks to great teamwork, with no harm to either! @MahaForest@PuneForest@resqct@pcmcindiagovin@PCcityPolice@FirePcmc@NachiketUtpat@shekhardalal@TSatarkar
For the first time, a Eurasian Otter has been recorded in Pune District, Maharashtra, marking a new chapter in the region’s wildlife history. This discovery, was made possible by a recent rescue operation conducted by RESQ CT and the Pune Forest Department, bringing renewed attention to the biodiversity within our landscapes.
Responding to wildlife emergencies often goes beyond saving a single animal—it offers valuable opportunities to gain insights into wildlife species, especially those rarely encountered in the region. Now under rehabilitation at our centre and doing well, this rescued Eurasian Otter presents an exceptional chance to expand our understanding of this elusive species. Additionally, tracking its origins could reveal extraordinary ecological insights, which will be essential in shaping its future.

Over 150 critically injured birds are pouring into RESQ Wildlife TTC. Disastrously strong winds and rain took several trees and hundred of birds down near #Baramati#Pune. The RESQ team spent the entire night recovering the ones alive. In the aftermath of nature's fury, there is still hope in the resilience of life. Though the winds and rain have taken their toll, the fight to save them has just begun.

In a race against time, the RESQ CT team joined forces with the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department to save a Bengal tigress in distress. Ensnared in the Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR) - India's largest tiger reserve, the tigress faced a critical situation. Watch the video to see the RESQ CT X NSTR team in action and witness some exceptional (and speedy!) teamwork.

Leopards x 3, a day of back-to-back rescues @resqct... makes you wonder just how many leopards are out there!
In Nashik: A duo of leopards decided to embark on a city tour. In a race against time @Resq_EcoEcho and Nashik FD skillfully managed to safely capture these adventurous leopards in the urban chaos, all within a swift 3 hours. @AbhimahaleWild 🫡
In Shrigonda: A 3-month-old cub's adventure took a turn when it ended up in a well. Slightly wet and cold, our team faced a crucial decision. Prioritising the cub's welfare and placing faith in nature's bond, the RESQ-ECO Daund team warmed it up and opted for a manual reunion the same night. At 4 am, mother came for her cub and they were reunited! #NachiketAwadhani
Blurred boundaries between humans and wildlife in human dominated landscapes.. Everyday is new challenge in managing their interactions safely @resqct@TSatarkar@NachiketUtpat@DrChetanVanjari@MahaForest@akshay_journo@chaitralicMT
Every single successful wild reunion is one less cub saved from going into lifetime captivity. After 3 days of tracking, multiple set ups, patiently waiting for hours..at 4:30 am the leopard mom finally arrived, called out for her cub, and our teams opened up the door of the cage to reunite the separated! It's a #HappyDiwali 🪔 after all! Satara FD x RESQ CT

The Egyptian vulture is more than just a soaring beauty; its a clever tool-user that can crack open eggs with precision! Unfortunately, nature's own problem-solver has landed into trouble & is under medical rehabilitation at RESQ now - 🤞 for a swift recovery! #IndiAves
🐆 Not too far from Pune, a young leopard cub took an unintended plunge into a well. Quickly rescued using a trap cage, we convinced the locals to allow us to attempt a reunion at the spot. Overcoming challenges, including a manual pulley operation and staying camouflaged 800 meters away, the cub was monitored thru the cams anxiously. Thankfully for this cub, the reunion was purr-fectly quick. The skies celebrated with us — nature's nod of approval, the heavens opened up with rain just as the two were reunited and the cub was back in it's mothers embrace. (whew!) Breaking Mews! A young lady #leopard tried her hand (or paw) at being a 'chicken whisperer' 🐔 but ended up in a bit of a coop-tastrophe 😅 The Nashik Forest Department called in the RESQ Nashik team to help give her a bit of a chill pill (you know, for everyone's safety) before her VIP transfer to a regular cage for health assessment. She will be released shortly!
What is wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and what is it not? Contrary to popular belief, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation is no fairy tale. https://t.co/1kRVkpQeIU
At @resqct as we navigate through the rescue and rehabilitation of thousands of animals each year, we’ve guided ourselves through this blueprint of ethics charted out for our rescuers, rehabilitators, and veterinarians.
It expands our duty beyond the individual animal. It makes us accountable to ourselves, the people who entrust the animal's care to us, our colleagues, and society at large. It drives us to be accountable, diligent, and dedicated, constantly striving to improve the quality of care given to the animals under our supervision. Read and share if it strikes a chord with you too!
Gaur translocation: successfully darted, stabilised & transported to his new home. Strategic planning + a UAV guided mission helped keep teams safe & the animal stress free. #thebestpart his final jump to freedom in the end! Pune Forest Dept x RESQ CT #technologyforwildlife
Topple, retrieve, pacify, run off! Two leopard cubs successfully reunited with their mother by RESQ Nashik Division x Nashik Forest Department . No better outcome than this for young wild ones!
