@tedhsu Kingston isn’t able to provide doctors for those orphaned patients from current practices. Current clinics are not taking patients from many postal codes as the new model isn’t operating as planned.

How will this help newly orphaned patients from Greenwood Medical? There has been no communication nor follow up from the clinic nor @FLA_OHT@tedhsu@MayorPaterson
Princess Street Medical Center, 772 Princess Street, has received a City of Kingston Primary Care Clinic Grant to expand administrative staff and allied health professionals to support adding 1,000 patients to the clinic roster, according to the City.

@janephilpott@cath_cullen@CBCTheHouse The Greenwood Medical Clinic (Kingston) conversion to this plan has resulted in patients being orphaned who don’t live in the catchment and no other health teams to provide primary care. No support, guidance nor information. This implementation is horrific for orphans.
@kingstonist in an interview with @CBCOttawa radio on Wednesday, @FLA_OHT Dr. Kim Morrison mentioned the clinic has hired a new doctor. This adds to the confusion and frustration for orphaned patients.
#ICYMI: Some patients at Greenwood Medical Clinic were told last Friday that their doctor is leaving in January 2025, and they would no longer be patients at the clinic. The next day, that clinic held open rostering for new patients. #YGK

@FLA_OHT@fla Some soon to be orphaned patients have been told there are NO FLA OHT servicing their catchment area under this new model and they will be without a primary care physician. Dr. Morrison’s @CBCOttawa radio interview neglected to address this issue.
@FLA_OHT@fla This is not the information shared. Those about to be orphaned have been told to call Health Care Connect and register for the list. No information, resources nor guidance about rostering with a new ‘health home closest to where they live’. I

@NewsYgk Unfortunately this practice has just announced that they are firing patients who are not in the catchment as one doctor is leaving. The practice is firing current patients to take on new patients.
