@GameRant Bungie will close within a season if it goes F2P. They should go OD on content like maps, add PvE/PvEvP hooks and loops.
More mysteries, denser story content, a mode with a larger map that is extremely porus and detailed in a persistent server. Somewhat like DayZ.
Then go F2P.
@shinobi602 People will get used to holding on to their electronics. Industry demand will collapse once AI fails to deliver profits and there will be a surplus of data centers and compute.
It’ll collapse until the industry finds the next big thing to use to inflate stock price.
@iShieldMaiden_ He won the wrongful termination lawsuit as it was obviously fraudulent by Bungie management.
I dont respect who he has become, but he was one of the few that fought for creative expression at Bungie and pushed back against Bungie management before it was popular to dunk on them.
@0kElysyum@DSR_Joker They will be positive about the game for that period in time they already paid for to not torpedo any chance at it becoming a success, but the moment they need to put in more to continue with it, you might see more layoffs or EoS.
@0kElysyum@DSR_Joker I suspect it’s somewhat like what happened with Highguard early in the year, though drawn out to a year.
They have already committed multiple times to investors to not pull a Concord and shut it down early and accordingly, settled the costs of the first year.
@SkulTF A lot of this garbage is gymnastics trying to make console-PC cross-play work and feel “balanced”.
It’s an impossible task that can never really be achieved. Standardize cross-save across all platforms and have cross-play be a console thing.
@ChristerEricson The complete rejection of AI and “hysteria” is just consumers and creatives realizing how it will used.
Almost all of the industry will use it to enshitify the products even more. No sort of savings will be passed to the consumer nor will the creatives be compensated more.
@B2R1N Consoles/Hardware rising in price is completely out of her control. There is literally nothing she can do except further fuck up Xbox’s finances and get it shuttered.
She was not even in the position to be able to plan ahead since she just took over.
@Wints701@xboxer214 What today shows us is PS leadership is STILL being lead like dogs by Bungie management. They actually still believe the lie they were sold by Pete and the gang.
How they have not fired their ass yet and how Herman Hulst has a job still is beyond me. Genuinely bewildering.
@DSR_Joker They don’t even have the decency to admit they are the reason Bungie is in the state it’s in. They single out D2 as if it was supposed to continue to prop up their fiscal incompetence.
If there is no news of management being shown the door in 24h, Bungie has no path to recovery.
@DestinyUniverso They might truly be running on fumes and prepaid expenditures for Marathon year 1 development. Thats why Marathon stays for now but the decision to EoS D2 is so unreverseable.
@DestinyUniverso Someone said something that sobered me to the probable reality Bungie is faced with internally.
They probably didn’t choose Marathon over Destiny. It’s just that management has no cards to play and no means to secure a budget for future D2 and Marathon’s development anymore.
