@Od3hAllDay@Superfan_K Yeah the narrative on Norm flipped quickly, because of the Giannis frenzy everyone forgot how bad he was last few months of the season, however I acknowledge that it makes some sense to resign him IF we land Giannis
Believe me, Heat fans have been frustrated with the state of the team ever since the Rozier trade, but brother, you are paying Myles Turner 50 mil, tried to “get help” for Giannis by trading for Kyle Kuzma😭 Employed Doc Rivers which pretty much ran your franchise goat out of town, and have no control over your draft picks. And even if you had them Horst literally hasn’t drafted a single good player outside of Donte which is not there anymore. And all that earned Horst a contract extension. Like what are we doing. Not even tryna hate, I feel for Bucks fans because I know they are passionate, but let’s not be petty
I feel you brother, but still, for me this is FO’s problem. They should be smart enough to figure out - okay, we can’t really compete this year, let’s sell high on some veterans (Powell) and get some assets while we can.
You don’t get to the NBA as a coach or a player unless you were super competitive. If I was a coach, I am trying my hardest to win every game even if my team sucks. I can’t blame Spo for that.
Your second point is a different issue. I am far from a Ware guy, but even I agree he should have played more at times this season. But my point is Spo does what he believes gives the team the best chance to win, even if he might not always be right, and I can’t blame him for it
Well he is much better than what DET has atp as their secondary options. I guess you are just much lower on Herro than I am (and I wouldn’t say I am high on him) that’s where we disagree. Well you better hope Detroit thinks more like myself, cuz it might be our chance to not get Giannis stolen by fucking Boston😭
Well I hear you, but they are certainly planning on competing for a foreseeable future, 21st pick this year is not that valuable for them. Any other siginificant upgrade would cost them much more (like a TMIII for instance, which seems to have crazy value) and there aren’t that many options available it seems like. Low risk potentially high reward imo. You still can make other moves with future picks if you want to go all-in.
@C_S__ Well yeah, but he is a good shooter so it’s workable. On top of that he wouldn’t be a spot up shooter in DET, he would be a secondary option. Tobias Harris had plenty of opportunity to post-up and play his game last year. He still would be able to play his game at times.
well you said it isn’t true and you pointed out post touches and mismatch hunting. Cade is a P&R dominant player, much different playstyle🤷🏻♂️
Anyway this hypothetical doesn’t matter that much.
Point is I would definitely go for Herro if I was Detroit. Won’t cost much, expiring deal so if it doesn’t work out they have a way out, fills the obvious need of a secondary ball handler/scorer, defensive infrastructure around to hide him.
@GreekFreek2MJ@brewcitypaul Sure, but isn’t it better for y’all to trade him either way? How can you rebuild with having Giannis’s super max and Turner/Dame debacle on the books with no picks? Emotions aside.
Even if you don’t value Herro or Jaquez (which I understand), isn’t it still better to get a lottery pick, two more unprotected picks, Jakucionis and Ware who have shown promise and you can develop, than risk Giannis leaving in FA? Even if he signs (best case scenario) there are no real avenues to improve
Not to mention you can still get something for Herro and Jaquez
