@SlickGang4 This is one of the best character introductions in One Piece. Up to this point, the Marine leaders we'd seen were either cruel bastards like Morgan or corrupt slimes like Nezumi, so it was easy to see them as villains. Smoker is the first moral AND competent enemy for Luffy.
