The Charlie Kirk shooting is horrific, there’s been almost 50 school shootings in the US this year so far.
Charlie Kirk also publicly stated that he’s ok with school shootings as long as the 2nd amendment is protected.
We needed gun reform 20 years ago. We need it more today.
Since FIFA said they'd be in touch about making this official, I just gotta say that I really couldn't think of anyone better to represent the World Cup than the guy who's spent the last three years promoting and learning the world's cultures and breaking stereotypes around them
@kylekuzma “We stole copyrighted material and used your tax dollars and municipal land without input but how dare you think that any of you filthy peasants deserve a cent of the software designed to take your job”
Explaining to children that they shouldn't worry about a career because the world will be completely unlivable in 15 years and that death will be a sweet relief from living in a nuclear wasteland is probably the hardest part of working at Build-A-Bear.
The thing nobody wants to get around is if they cared so much about competitive balance, they could implement and/or enforce the soft floor like they have the soft cap, but what they really want is controlled expenses for franchise valuation.
@BrewerSooner Ah yes my business that I sold for 4 billion was a complete failure because I had 300 million in business debt before I sold, I am a very smart financial guy and this is my take on the world
NFL has one because they had no free agency and that’s what they had to give up to get one
NHL has one because teams were legitimately going bankrupt and they needed to stabilize the league
NBA has one because salaries were rising faster than revenues and teams were losing money
Owners took advantage of massive issues in those other leagues in order to institute a salary cap. MLB doesn’t have those issues. MLB owners just don’t want to pay their players a fair wage to keep them. In any other business, the public would be happy to see those owners fail
I am going to say this many times on the podcast over the next year, but I may as well put it here for posterity:
If an MLB team has debt, it is because the owner has intentionally amassed it to lessen the tax burden on their other business interests
Imagine if a woman president crashed the economy and started a war with no end in sight, and her biggest, seemingly ONLY concern was building a ballroom and redecorating the White House.
This applies to Talarico too but if you get excited about having an unexpected lead in a Senate race your side is supposed to lose and no one is polling above 45% you’re kinda asking to get rug-pulled
The problem is that the "small market" success basically boils down to Patrick Mahomes and Green Bay.
The issue with charts like this is that the "small market" MLB teams aren't trying. PIT has given out a *total* of $268M in contracts over this span, and only 1 3-year deal.
5 wembys is amazing, but it’s all the same guy.
5 lebron’s could literally give you 5 different elite players & it’s not hyperbole because we’ve actually seen it lol. it’s 5 brons all day.
