If you look around, our natural world is drop dead gorgeous.
The Tamarind Valley Collective. Day trips and comfortable overnight camping. Home, birding, regenerative farming and great food!

The "H" bit of the biodiversity weekend at the farm checked! A teeny (and harmless) wolf snake came in to help with the kitchen work and was gently eased back into its natural habitat :)
TVC has always been a fascinating visit from a biodiversity and regeneration perspective - but now there's a solid reason to be there on the 27-28th of Aug

There's about 300kgs of deseeded tamarind at the farm. Completely organic, really tangy and good stuff. 250/- a kg. (200/- if you come over for a day trip/weekend stay and take some). Beka?
This year water is visible in the stream in May! While some of it is due to the unexpected rain, the soil has also better retained the moisture from last year's because of planting in the riparian area as well as letting the vegetation grow.
Our 5th year anniv meetup happened at Ranjan & Reva's home (which is a lesson in living sustainably in itself!) The community that defines TVC is magical, and so was this gathering.
We're up to 55 bird species that we've seen at the farm. Snakes, elephants, wild boar as well. It's truly becoming home for so many as the landscape becomes richer!
There's some awesome hikes at The Tamarind Valley Collective. Check them out.
There's also a lot of fun and learning about landscape rejuvenation, natural farming. And great organic food!
Makes for a lovely camping weekend, no?

Balu, a #birding enthusiast, visits all our places for the amazing bird life there. He shared some amazing ones from TVC, including a rare winter migrant bee eater from Europe locally called the Sharanga
The @gatesfoundation has created grant funding for smart digital enabled #innovation in #farming related ideas. Do check out and apply if you're a social entrepreneur. Let us know if you need tech/other help, esp if the idea is ecologically beneficial.

I get many calls from folks wanting to buy/start a farm, wanting to move away from the city etc. So I thought I'd share the various things these discussions covered for those looking at #farming
My views and learnings. YMMV

The perfect day trip and #camping location for those who love being in forests, or want to learn more about regenerative #farming, or just chill in a beautiful place close to #Bangalore
TVC is the shorthand for the place. Check it out.

It takes about 10 fossil fuel calories to produce and transport each food calorie in the average American diet.
I estimated similar for rice across the world. #Permaculture is a sensible, efficient switch, unless we want to continue stealing from the future.
In Fri's #Resilience chat, we speak with @zenrainman and @get_shubha of Biome Water, and @erbdex who's a "green follows blue" champion, about the one we've already seen stressed - #water
What is the right way to look at this? What can we do?
