Asked Wings HC Jose Fernandez about the team’s backside defense and if Awak Kuier could assist
“Talking about minutes here, minutes there. I don’t know…Whatever minutes she gets, with her size, she can protect the basket, correct? So, I don’t know. Whatever minutes she gets..⬇️
Risk is sought in the loss domain. When the path to “making it” long term is unclear, asymmetric bets become more appealing. Taking a big swing now appears > the prolonged approach of investing + salary (which may soon disappear).
Most are digging their own grave. But a few win
One economic side of this is rarely discussed.
Young people have a bleak view of our economic future (AI job loss + insurmountable wealth inequality + social media comparison). Gambling/crypto/get rich quick schemes become a CALCULATED risk when it feels like time is running out
More than half of men ages 18-49 (52%) now say they have an active sports betting account with an online sportsbook like DraftKings, Caesars, FanDuel, or BetMGM.
Atlanta led the league in rebounding and added Angel Reese. Now they’ve kept their two most important frontcourt players.
Should be a wildly explosive offense simply because of how many shots they get up- last year’s #2 offense projects to get even better. Will be fun to watch
Glad the new Panthers front office is showing a hint of competence by adding someone who really understands roster construction. I enjoy a lot of Eager’s work.
Panthers plan to hire SumerSports VP Eric Eager in an analytics role, per league source.
Eager worked for Pro Football Focus prior to SumerSports, a startup in 2022 (that also employs Thomas Dimitroff) aimed at helping NFL teams in player acquisition and roster management.
… Who wants this?
As a fan of a bad Ohio State basketball team, there is simply no reason that this team should be playing NCAA tournament basketball (unless we win the B10 tournament)
@LukeWisniewski7 Given some of the questionable characters Bjork has been involved with recently, this feels like a disaster waiting to happen. But he would win games.
In six Big Ten games, Ohio State has lost the final eight minutes by an average of 7 points per game.
Poor offensive execution in crunch time has been a theme the last few years, and it doesn’t look to have improved this season.
I still think Chris Holtmann is a decent coach, and a good recruiter. But between another spiraling conference season, general fan apathy, and a new AD, it’s hard to envision this going on much longer.
If I’m Ross Bjork, my first call is to Josh Shertz.
A few non-conference results appear to be fool’s gold, as UCLA is awful and the home loss to Texas A&M is much worse now than it was 2 months ago.
Kenpom currently has Ohio State at 47th, behind in-state Dayton (28), Xavier (32), and Cincinnati (33).
