Skin-to-Skin: More Than Just Cuddles
Holding your baby skin-to-skin isn’t just sweet—it’s science.
This simple act:
✨ Calms your baby’s heart rate
✨ Regulates their temperature
✨ Boosts milk supply
✨ Deepens your bond
Dr. Jimi’s Tip: In the early days, plan for skin-to-skin as often as you can—after birth, before feeds, or anytime your baby needs comfort. You’re not “spoiling” them… you’re building trust, security, and a lifetime of connection. 💕
Your touch is their safe place.
Did you know you're giving your baby their very first immune system upgrade—one drop at a time?
From the moment your baby latches, your milk becomes their custom-made shield.
Breastmilk is packed with living immune cells, antibodies, and bioactive factors that learn and adapt to protect your baby from the germs in their world—even before vaccines or solid food come into play.
Those sniffles you fought off last week? Your milk is already building antibodies to help your baby fight them, too.
It’s nature’s brilliant, responsive defense system—and YOU are the key to it.
Ever feel like your baby wants to nurse
ALL.
THE.
TIME?
You’re not imagining things, and you’re not doing anything wrong.
Babies are built to eat small amounts often. Their tiny tummies (about the size of a cherry at birth!) fill quickly—and empty just as fast.
Frequent feeding isn’t a problem to fix—it’s a biological design that protects their blood sugar, supports digestion, and builds your milk supply.
So if you’re feeling like a human snack bar, take a deep breath and know: This is normal. This is nourishment. This is your baby thriving.
Let’s reframe frequent feeding from “too much” to “just right.”
There’s no one “right” way to hold your baby at the breast—just the way that works for you both. 💕
Did you know that switching up breastfeeding positions can help improve latch, ease nipple soreness, and even drain milk ducts more effectively?
Whether you're nursing a newborn or tandem feeding a toddler and a newborn, the way you position your baby matters—and variety is your friend!
Laid-back, side-lying, cross-cradle, football hold… they each have their magic. The key is comfort and connection—for you and your baby.
Let’s get you and your baby cozy, confident, and well-supported.
Thinking of offering a pacifier to soothe your baby? Let’s pause for a moment.
In those early days of breastfeeding, every suck matters—not just for feeding but for building your milk supply and strengthening your baby’s latch.
A pacifier can accidentally interrupt that delicate rhythm, especially at the beginning of breastfeeding when your baby has not "learned" the best technique.
I get it—you're tired, touched out, and desperate for quiet.
But before popping in the paci, let’s talk about what your baby might be asking for. Comfort? Food? Connection?
You can meet all those needs at the breast—where your milk, warmth, and heartbeat create the perfect nest.
Let’s set up breastfeeding for long-term success.

Creating Your Breastfeeding Nest
Whether you're nursing a newborn or in the groove of feeding an older baby, where you breastfeed can make a big difference for both your body and your peace of mind.
Mama, you deserve a space that feels safe, calm, and supportive.
A cozy chair, a soft blanket, a place to set your water and snacks, a little basket with burp cloths or a good book—these aren’t luxuries, they’re essentials for your well-being.
Your nervous system thrives when you feel comfortable, and when you are supported, your milk flows more easily, your baby senses your calm, and the whole experience becomes more enjoyable.

Breastfeeding & Hydration—Why It Matters More Than Ever!
Hey there, beautiful mamas (and those who support them!)—did you know your fluid needs go way up during breastfeeding?
That’s because your amazing body is producing liquid gold around the clock—and that liquid? It’s mostly water!
Staying well-hydrated isn’t just about milk supply (though that’s a biggie). It also helps your energy, mood, digestion, and even how your skin feels.
If you're feeling foggy, headachy, or just plain off, reach for that water bottle!
Herbal teas, infused waters, broths, and juicy fruits all count too.
Let’s feed the feeder—one sip at a time.

To the families I’ve had the honor to walk alongside—thank you. 💛
You’ve welcomed me into some of your most sacred moments: first latches, long nights, quiet tears, joyful milestones. You’ve shared your stories, your worries, your trust—and in doing so, you’ve taught me more than any textbook ever could.
Your strength, vulnerability, and love continue to shape the way I show up every single day. I carry your lessons with me in every class I teach, every consult I offer, and every mom-baby dyad I serve.
You are the heartbeat of this work.
From the tiniest newborn snuggled in your arms to the sleepless nights and first latches, you’ve welcomed me into some of the most intimate, powerful moments of your lives. And in doing so, you’ve given me something I could never learn from books or degrees—wisdom born of love, resilience, and vulnerability.
You’ve taught me to slow down, to listen with more than my ears, and to lead with compassion. Your trust has been my greatest teacher, and your strength continues shaping how I serve others.
I carry your stories with me in every conversation, in every classroom, and in every clinical moment. You are the reason I do this work—and the reason I will never stop learning how to do it better.
With deep gratitude and affection,

Breastfeeding Tip: The Magic of Skin-to-Skin!
I have been explaining skin-to-skin to one of my students whose brother recently had a premature baby. It took him a bit to understand that I wanted him and his family to put the baby's bare skin on their bare skin! Once he understood, he laughed and said, "We can do that!"
Skin-to-skin contact isn't just for bonding.
It helps your baby latch better, stimulates your milk supply, and keeps your little one calm and cozy.
How to do it?
Hold your baby against your bare chest right after birth and as often as possible in those early weeks.
This warmth and closeness trigger natural feeding instincts and help regulate the baby's temperature, heart rate, and stress levels.
Bonus Tip: If you're struggling with breastfeeding, try a skin-to-skin session before the next feed—it's like a reset button for both you and baby!

Boost Your Milk Supply with Skin-to-Skin!
Did you know that holding your baby skin-to-skin can help increase prolactin, the hormone responsible for milk production?
The more you cuddle your little one close, the more your body responds by producing the milk your baby needs.
It’s a beautiful, natural way to strengthen your bond AND support your breastfeeding journey.
So, take those extra moments to enjoy the warmth of your baby’s skin against yours. Every snuggle counts, not just for comfort but for nourishing your baby too!

Every time your baby breastfeeds, tiny traces of their saliva enter the nipple, triggering your body to produce custom-made antibodies—especially sIgA—to fight off infections.
This means your milk is constantly adapting to protect your little one!
