@LeeKuanYimby@americaunwon Why the heck do politicians think they are entitled to continually take money from working people to fund fraudulent government programs?
Well there are criminal penalties for unauthorized release of tax information, so unless Elon himself actually released (or authorized the release) of his tax returns the source is likely unreliable or potentially unauthorized in which case it isn’t worth snooping around to peek at it.
In either case, if Elon paid no U.S. income tax in 2018, there’s a multitude of reasons which presumably fit within the applicable standards under the Internal Revenue Code or Treasury Regs. Elon’s tax returns would be scrutinized to an extreme level if he’s examined by IRS, so no reputable paid preparer would sign his tax return without meeting the applicable standards (if for no other reason, he/she would face the risk of exposure to significant penalties).
Elon did say publicly that his 2021 U.S. tax owed was $11 billion.
@Okie_Rancher Looks great! As a city dweller, the farmers & ranchers at our local market provide all the meats, dairy, eggs etc. needed - God willing, never going back to a corporate grocery store. BIL used to raise hogs but sadly had to stop (we found great hog ranchers in TX, though).
@gillogly83@PeymonFreedom@PanhandleLadee Reference: The Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (as amended) is the main body of U.S. federal tax law. It is codified as Title 26 of the United States Code (Subtitle A is individual income tax).
@SenWarren Great for Elon. Great for America. And great for the world.
Elon created value and was rewarded for it.
You created nothing—you’re simply trying to stir up envy and resentment. You are a worthless communist.
@Upstartgoose@MikeBenzCyber@elonmusk Please explain the “millions and millions from the government.” Specifically describe the transaction(s) as well as the amount and terms & conditions under which the money was “gotten” by Elon and the specific company(ies)).
@WesternLensman@PlanetOfMemes The entirety of @CNN and @abbydphillip is based upon opinion rather than facts or journalism and as such have zero credibility, zero professionalism, and zero integrity. Who watches this nonsense?
Roger that. There’s also the fact that Elon’s investments in and growth of companies has contributed to tens of thousands of people being able to build lives for their families by providing jobs, housing, healthcare, education, groceries, clothing, etc.
If Elon’s success offends you then you don’t understand America or appreciate its uniqueness. In such a case, consider moving to countries like Cuba, N. Korea, China, Iran. No one is forced to stay here.
@thestinkeye@BuzzPatterson That’s an incredible exercise of restraint by the man with grey hair. The sheriff should have created some space between the two men.
