As I lead the charge for a bold overhaul of education in Oklahoma, putting parents back in control, rejecting radical agendas, and demanding excellence: it’s no surprise to face politically motivated attacks.
Any suggestion that a device of mine was used to stream inappropriate content on the television set is categorically false. I have no knowledge of what was on the TV screen during the alleged incident, and there is absolutely no truth to any implication of wrongdoing.
These falsehoods are the desperate tactics of a broken establishment afraid of real change. They aren’t just attacking me, they’re attacking the values of the Oklahomans who elected me to challenge the status quo.
I will not be distracted. My focus remains on making Oklahoma the best state in the nation, in every category.
The National Education Association handbook says "educators must acknowledge the existence of white supremacy culture as a primary root cause of institutional racism, structural racism, and white privilege."
"Educators must also work to prohibit institutionally racist systems"
This morning I’m listening to a principal at a large (district) high school in Texas. He says 75% of the work of his office is dealing with behavioral issues with 20-30 students. Alternative schools are so important! #TXed#txlege
NEW: Our bill banning dangerous chemicals from school lunches has PASSED the Senate & House and is on its way to the Governor’s desk.
This makes Texas the largest red state to ban carcinogens from children’s lunches.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Senator @LoisKolkhorst , Representative @CarolineForTX , @calleymeans , @drmarkhyman , @realalexclark , Brigham Buhler @ferrisbuhler81 , Jason Karp @humankarp , and Grace Price @travelingenes . #txlege
The Senate Committee on Education K-16 will hold a public hearing on Thursday to consider CSHB2. This is a historic opportunity to lift up Texas education with an unprecedented $8 billion in new funding. Here are a few key components of the bill: #txlege
Yesterday I signed the LARGEST day-one school choice program in the history of America.
This injects competition into our education system that will benefit students and families for generations.
We will also increase funding for public schools to ensure they can compete.
Districts routinely claim they’re “at capacity” to dodge open enrollment—despite evidence to the contrary. New research suggests a better way to measure space (and expose gatekeeping).
Yesterday, I laid out SB 1798 which prohibits free tuition or subsidized in-state tuition at public institutions of higher education for those here illegally. These scarce taxpayer funds should be reserved for citizens.
Thank you @FBIHouston.
For too long the Houston Independent School District was hindered by criminal behavior.
Now with your help and new leadership installed by the state, HISD is performing better than it has in years.
The focus is returned to better student outcomes.
Thank you @TPPF for having me and @kevinsparkstx to discuss our bills to establish the Legal Gold Standard for all families in the CPS system! I'm honored to be championing HB 2216 on the House floor tomorrow!! #txlege
Want to learn how Texas is set to launch the largest day-one school choice program in the country?
Join us this Thursday at The Angry Elephant in San Antonio for a special victory event hosted by @AFPTX. I’ll break down how we got here—and what’s next for parents across Texas.

I’m deeply disappointed to learn that the Houston Food Bank is being forced to scale back services due to an $11 million federal funding cut.
These cuts will hit the most vulnerable in our community the hardest.

Looks like some folks put the ESA in TEXAS yesterday. Bravo. Maybe I’ll make some of these mugs after all as the people who protested the most will be the first to sign up. #schoolchoice
Thanks @mlitwack. Yes. It's been nearly 20 yrs that @AgudahNews and Jewish community leaders from across Texas have been asking for school choice. Proud to be part of a great coalition. Grateful to @GregAbbott_TX and legislative leaders for getting it done this yr. @AriWeisenfeld
