Longtime pastors will lead five deaneries in the @BrooklynDiocese, and three priests have been incardinated.

Under Canon Law a bishop, in this case @bishopofbklyn, organizes neighboring parishes into regions called "deaneries," reports @Bill_MillerST.

The bishop also appoints a senior priest, or “dean”, to be his liaison to the deanery with administrative and pastoral support.

Father Jose Diaz remembers many nights growing up when he would walk into his mother Raisa’s bedroom and see her with her head bowed in prayer.

More than 300 Catholics joined Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament and Sacred Heart of Jesus parishes for a Eucharistic procession through Queens Deanery 5, walking 1.1 miles in prayer, song, and worship behind the Blessed Sacrament.

Just over a year after a devastating fire left some community members fearing the worst, St. Edmund Church in Breezy Point has been restored and rededicated in the @BrooklynDiocese.

@bishopofbklyn celebrated a Mass of Dedication at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in East Flatbush following extensive renovations to the century-old parish.
