The entire Armenian Population of #Artsakh(#Nagorno_Karabakh) is forced to massive displacement due to their ethnic identity. Forced deportation of 120,000 Armenians by #Azerbaijan. #Genocide of 21st century after being forced to live in a blockade for more than 9 months.

Rivers of cars are flowing to Armenia with refugees forced out of Nagorno Karabakh, from their ancestral land, their homes, communities, villages and cities, because no one guaranteed their rights and securities in Nagorno Karabakh. This is a classic case of ethnic cleansing implemented by Azerbaijan in the 21st century. There is no doubt Azerbaijan must be held accountable for this act.

These people were forced to leave their homes and were evacuated by the Russian peacekeepers without any basic belongings. An urgent session is expected today at the UN Security Council. Will there be any resolution to protect these people, to restore their fundamental right to live in their homes or not? Depends first of all on Russia @RussiaUN, the @POTUS @SecBlinken USA, France @EmmanuelMacron and all other members of the UN Security Council.

Russian peacekeepers evacuated 5 thousand people from the different parts of Nagorno Karabakh during the Azerbaijani military aggression aiming to implement ethnic cleansing in that territory.

In response to our appeals and calls, His Serene Highness Prince Michael of Liechtenstein and other humanitarian leaders have expressed their readiness to lead a humanitarian airlift to #NagornoKarabakh.

H.S.H. PRINCE MICHAEL OF LIECHTENSTEIN AND OTHER HUMANITARIAN LEADERS EXPRESS READINESS TO LEAD A HUMANITARIAN AIRLIFT TO NAGORNO-KARABAKH

His Serene Highness Prince Michael of Liechtenstein, expressed readiness to lead a humanitarian airlift to besieged #NagornoKarabakh/#Artsakh and to be on the board that will fly to the region, bringing much-needed food and medication arranged by the Aznavour Foundation. According to one of our partners in this humanitarian mission, Impact Investing Solutions (@ImpactAndAct) from Switzerland, "together with H.S.H. Prince Michael, other World leaders, current and former heads of state are also ready to lead necessary airlifts to Nagorno-Karabakh, where 120,000 people, including 30,000 children, are deprived of food and medication for more than 8 months already".

A call to organize a humanitarian airlift to Nagorno-Karabakh was first made in December 2022 by a group of global humanitarian leaders, including Leymah Gbowee, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; Bernard Kouchner, former French Foreign Minister and former Minister of Health, Paul Polman, climate and equalities campaigner; former CEO of Unilever; Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland; Ernesto Zedillo, former President of Mexico and many more human rights defenders and peace activists.

An international humanitarian airlift is being organized, delivering food and other essentials to the local population and evacuating those whose life is endangered to safety. Among these are several patients of the Republican Medical Centre Stepanakert in grave conditions requiring urgent medical care that cannot be adequately provided because of the blockade.

In the meantime, while the road remains blocked, the humanitarian airlift should help the local population to survive and sustain. There already is an operational airport in Stepanakert, which can be used for this purpose. This will not require any additional efforts on the side of the international community except for those necessary to maintain the airlift and ensure its safety.

Currently, there is a call to World Food Program (@WFP) and the @RedCross to organize the flight in the nearest days, and H.S.H. Prince Michael of Liechtenstein is ready to lead the first humanitarian mission.

I wish to express my gratitude to the representatives of those @UN member states who have used appropriate language concerning the closure of the #LachinCorridor by Azerbaijan. However, the UN member states lack a precise understanding of the situation due to their inability to access #NagornoKarabakh. Consequently, they may not fully comprehend the gravity of the circumstances. While calls are significant, tangible actions are required to avert any further deterioration. I implore the UN to dispatch a mission to witness the reality on the ground. I am confident that following this firsthand experience, they will be resolute in taking definitive actions to counter Azerbaijan's genocidal policy.
