@jadeflame4 The ARPD staff didn’t mention any names of any other trees. There were like two other tree suggestions besides live oak. ARPD said they already had the magnolias purchased and in hand but could still plant something else.

I live by Chochenyo Park and went to this meeting. Apparently concerns had been raised about magnolia trees as racist symbols. Not sure what the right answer is, but I do want to report that Trish Spencer made a very special effort to show up and say pro-magnolia things. #alamtg

@ThisIsNeato @TaggartJennifer The Otis blacktop is indeed supposed to be open on weekends; we believe the holiday may have led to an oversight with the unlocking. LMS is not open on weekends as we don't have a custodian on site. Hope that helps!

@AUSDNews I’m at Otis/Krusi now and the fence to the blacktop is closed. I seem to recall the kids used to have blacktop access on weekends. Has a here been a change in district policy?
