@Jfrodez @MeowNINRobin I do not think ROP is in that ball park. Like, I mentioned somewhere in this thread, there are plenty of issues, both as a book reader and as critic that I have found. But, I dont think ROP is so bad I have to discourage my friends from it.

As someone who has watched all the movies, and read the major books especially the Silmarillion. I watched the first 3 episodes, and I have to say it is a good show, faithful to the true style of Tolkien's works.

@Jfrodez @MeowNINRobin "worst tv show ever" is one example of a sensational statement. Let me give tell you a show that was (apparently) the worst tv show. The Halo tv series (the master chief one). A friend told me I need not watch it even, and I indeed have not. Was it really that bad, I dont know.

@Jfrodez @MeowNINRobin I humbly disagree. When I speak of it being true to Tolkien's spirit, I mean that it produced the same feelings within me when I experienced the books and PJ's movies. Its a familiar flavor.

Feeling however are subjective and I do understand not everyone would feel the same way.

@MeowNINRobin I made a jest when I mentioned GOT. I have seen way worse than ROP, GOT or HOD. For you to throw ROP under the bus after just 4 episodes calling it the absolute 'worst' is sensational.

Think of it what you want, but dont discourage non-tolkien fans from it.

If any fanboi tells you "donot watch the show, its a waste of time", drone out that noise! Watch the show, you will enjoy it. Tolkein's world is for all!

Out of my circle of friends so many have come forward asking me to recommend them books from the librarian, just because the show has captivated them.

I don't give a damn if that elf and that human are supposed to be 1700years apart in the timeline.
