3 House generally does a good job at making you feel the characters are living through the story of the game but it does an abysmal job at actually involving the student from your route into the main story outside of their mandated single quip that can be removed if they are dead

No. This was one of the parts I hated about 3H. The main story cutscenes had to be written with the assumption that you didn't read any of the supports, so whenever the characters chimed in it was always their surface level quirk. It was REALLY annoying and didn't add anything.
