OPEN HEAVENS

"And the Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless the work of thine hand: and thou shall lend unto many nations, and thou shall not borrow." - (Deuteronomy 28:12)

READ: Matthew 3:16-17

There is a difference between working under open heavens and working under closed heavens. Today's memory verse says that when the heavens are opened over you, they will give the rain in due season; you will get a harvest from your work, and as a result, you will begin to lend to nations. When the heavens are closed, according to Deuteronomy 28:23-24, the rain that falls will be like powder, and your efforts will be useless.

The way to experience open heavens, as seen in Deuteronomy 28:1-2, is to hearken diligently unto the word of the Lord and to observe and do all that He commands. One of His commands is in Malachi 3:10:

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

When the heavens are opened over a person, everything he or she touches will begin to prosper. When you live a holy life and do the will of God, the heavens will open over you. When Peter allowed Jesus to use his boat and then obeyed His instruction to let down his nets for a catch, his obedience led to an overflowing miracle.However, because Peter had operated under closed heavens for so long, he let down only one net. Even with that, he caught a great multitude of fishes (Luke 5:1-7); imagine what would have happened if he had let down many nets as Jesus instructed. In the name that is above every other name, I pray that you will hear God's voice concerning your next level and obey His instructions.

Prayer is another thing that causes a believer to walk under open heavens. When Jesus went to River Jordan to be baptised by John the Baptist, He did what other people didn't do when they were being baptised: He prayed.

Now when all the people were baptised, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heavens was opened, (Luke 3:21)

While others entered the water and came out under closed heavens, Jesus prayed as He went into the water and came out under an open heaven. Spending time in fervent prayers will give you results that others do not have because the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man has great power and produces wonderful results (James 5:16).

PRAYER POINT:
Father, I pray for the grace to pray fervently and obey you diligently so that I can live under open heavens, in Jesus’ name.

NO MORE LABOURING 1

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." - (Matthew 11:28)

In 1963, while I was a teacher at Ondo Boys’ High School in South-West Nigeria, I was teaching 35 lesson periods every week. Another tutor, who had more experience and qualifications than me, was teaching just 21 lesson periods every week. He was earning four times more than I was earning and was still grumbling about the workload. I went to him and said, “Sir, you are teaching 21 lesson periods while I am teaching 35, yet you are earning four times what I am earning, and you are complaining.” He drew me close, patted me, and said, “My boy, you don’t understand. I’m being paid for what I have already done. I’m being paid for what is in my brain.” While I was labouring and earning peanuts, the other teacher wasn’t working as hard, yet he was earning more.

There is a difference between working diligently and labouring. A manual labourer has to work very hard to get little pay. You can’t call a manager a labourer; both of them go to their workplaces in the morning, but one goes to work, and the other goes to labour. Even though a manager arrives at the office very early every day and works hard, he or she gets paid something worthwhile for his or her efforts. In Genesis 2:15, God gave Adam a garden to tend. Some Bible scholars have described the Garden of Eden to be as big as Lagos, Nigeria. To ask one man to keep a garden of that size requires a lot of work. However, Adam was working, not labouring. After he fell into sin, he began to labour (Genesis 3:17-19), such that when he worked, he sweated - it wasn’t recorded that he sweated before this time. Additionally, after labouring and sweating, the ground yielded thorns and thistles.

In Luke 5:5, Peter toiled all night and caught nothing - that is labouring. Even though he worked hard all night, he had nothing to show for it. However, Peter’s labouring days ended when Jesus came into his life. If you have been labouring and you want your labouring days to come to an end, rebuild your connection with God, and He will put an end to fruitless labours in your life forever.

Beloved, if for whatever reason, you are experiencing fruitless labour even though you have surrendered your life to Christ and are living according to His will, I decree that the Lord will step into your situation today and put an end to labouring in your life, in Jesus' name.

An active connection with God will ensure that you do not experience fruitless labour.

Those who feel somehow that some forces of darkness had been troubling them, they need deliverance, please stand now; Lord of host, my father, my God, the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, the Lord who has never lost a war, I call on you today, arise for these your children in Jesus name, scatter all their enemies in Jesus name. The blood that conquers satan, let that blood conquer in Jesus Name. I take authority in Jesus Name and I decree that all these forces be bound in Jesus Name. I decree that they will lose their hold on your children right now in Jesus Name. Every hand that has been tied by the enemies is loosed in Jesus Name. Every leg that had been tied by the enemies; be loosed now in Jesus Name. Every life that has been held in captivity be set free right now in Jesus Name. All those who are students, my Father and my God you are the source of wisdom, you said in your word that you give wisdom to the wise, you said in your word that if anybody lacks wisdom they should ask you, I commit all these children into your hands LORD, beginning from now, divine wisdom release to them in Jesus name. Divine understanding; release to them in Jesus Name. Don’t let them ever know failure again. Beginning from now, let them begin to surprise their teachers in Jesus Name, turn these children to geniuses in Jesus Name. And the new brain you are giving them LORD, let them be use for your glory in Jesus Name. Thank you Almighty God, in Jesus Name we have prayed. Please be seated and remain in an attitude of worship.

Those who are single; trusting God for future partners, widows who still want to marry, please stand now. Thank you father, my father and my God, you are a family man, you are a father, you have an only begotten son and you have many adopted children, of which I am one. You said it is not good that a man should be alone, all these people who are trusting you for future partners, who are eligible before the ending of this year, let the wedding bell ring. Wherever their partners may be bring him or her across the path of your children in Jesus name. You are the original match maker, you are the one who produce Eve for Adam, my Lord, husband form the throne of heaven, wives from the throne of heaven, bring them together this year in Jesus name. The kind of union that one will chase a thousand and two will put ten thousand to flight arrange for your children in Jesus name. Thank you Almighty God, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. Now those who are businessmen, business women, those who are believing God for one miracle or the other please stand now. My father and my God, your word says it is God who gives the power to get wealth. I commit all your children to your hands, before the end of this month, major financial breakthroughs bring to them in Jesus Name. I rebuke poverty in the life of these your children, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ name, before the end of this month you will have cross the border of poverty in Jesus name. Because father you are the controller of silver and gold, don’t let this your children ever beg again, prosper them like only you can do in Jesus name. When you have done it for them don’t let them forget you. In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

The Lord said there are some people here; the only thing you are hungry for is the anointing of God, the power to perform signs and wonder for the Almighty, if you are in that category stand, please. Father, you are the baptizer in the Holy Spirit and in fire, all powers belong to you and you give it to whosoever you wish. These your child here including me; we are hungry for you, we are hungry for your anointing, we are hungry for your power, we are hungry for your healing virtues, we want to be able to perform signs and wonders in your name, father grant our request in Jesus name.

Pour fresh oil on every one of us tonight in Jesus name. As we go from here Lord God Almighty, anyone we touch, let that fellow receive a miracle in Jesus name. The ability to heal the sick, ability to raise the dead, ability to make the lame walk, ability to make the blind see, ability to make deaf to hear, ability to make the dumb speak, release to us now in Jesus name. That special anointing that when the devil sees us coming the devil will run, that special anointing that when demon see us coming, demons will scatter release to us now in Jesus name. Lord every minister of God here tonight, prosper their ministries in Jesus name, let their churches become big in Jesus name. Thank you Almighty God in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. Now finally, if I have not mentioned your case at all or there is still something else you want, you can stand on your feet now. The final group now, All sufficient God, Jehovah El-Shaddai the God who is more than enough, I commit all these your children who are standing into your hands, before they left home you knew what they wanted, father whatever it is that they must have so that their Joy may be full, release to them right now in Jesus name. whatever it is, because you know the needs of everybody, whatever they may have that they will consider their own special breakthrough, release it to them in Jesus name, if it is portion give it to them in Jesus amen, if it is victory give it to them in Jesus name, if it is a problem they can’t discuss with anyone, solve that problem, bless them in Jesus name, and when you have done it for every one of us, give us the grace to be grateful, thank you father, glory be to your holy name. In Jesus name we have prayed.

BUT FOR THE LORD

“Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.” - (Psalm 124:6)

When I was a lecturer at the University of Ilorin, after my morning lectures, I would leave the campus, go home for lunch, and relax before returning for my evening lectures. I was also serving as the pastor of the RCCG parish in Ilorin then, so our living room was constantly filled with people. One afternoon, after eating, I lay on the couch in the living room to rest before returning for my evening lectures. I closed my eyes so people walking around would think that I was sleeping and not disturb me.

While lying down, someone grabbed my hands and legs and bent as if to kiss me. Initially, I thought it was my wife, but then I realised that whoever could hold my hands and legs at the same time must be much taller and stronger than her. I opened my eyes immediately, and the being (I really couldn't make out what it was) vanished. I wondered what had just happened as I felt a cold sensation run down my spine. I shook it off and went for my lectures. While I was on the campus, I started experiencing a terrible stomach ache, which led to severe stooling and vomiting. On returning home, I had to practically crawl from my car to the bathroom. Then I asked, "Lord, why is this happening to me?" and He responded, "I just wanted you to get a glimpse of the battles I fight for you that you are not aware of." Immediately He said that, the stomach ache, stooling, and vomiting stopped.

You have no idea how much God protects you as you go about your daily activities. You may think that you go and come safely because you are very careful or because you are a good driver, but believe me, your carefulness or driving skills cannot get you out of an accident that the devil has planned; only God can guarantee your safety. If you think that you are surrounded by security personnel, what will happen if they face a terror group with more sophisticated weapons than them? This is why Psalm 127:1 says that the watchman watches in vain if the Lord is not watching over the city.

Beloved, some people have plied the same routes you ply and gotten kidnapped or killed. Also, the same kind of food you eat is what has caused the death of others. You should constantly thank God for your safety; you will not be alive without Him (Lamentations 3:22).

ACTION POINT:
Today is my birthday; please thank God on my behalf because He truly has been faithful to me.
