The most eyebrow raising moment from the F-35 docking in Kerala was not the passive spying & how it got there or why it took so long to fix it; It's the fact that Royal Navy couldn't fix its own F-35 and Lockheed Martin guys had to drop by and disassemble the jet. This incident negatively affects F-35 sales at a time when the US is more desperate.

Meanwhile India is transitioning away from Russian dependency. While India's indigenous 5th gen fighter jet HAL AMCA is nowhere close in sight (prototype reveal in 2028 and deployment mid 2030s), the Russian Felon sits as a delicious choice for current operations as Pak receives its Chinese J-35A 5th gen this year.

India has been offered both F-35 & Su-57 this year. The Su-57 deal is a stacked one: It comes with immediate Su-35M deliveries + Full tech transfer of Su-57 including all source code. This means India could integrate its own weapons and systems into it. Conversely Donald Trump is highly protective of tech transfer and would seek manufacturing in US.

At the present moment, only Russia and Algeria own Su-57. Russia has not truly unleashed The Felon in Ukraine war - they have so far used outdated missiles in the aircraft which wrecks its stealth. The missiles which Russia has developed esp. for the Su-57 is not being produced en masse as they cannot purchase parts due to sanctions.

Bottomline arises that India could be the first nation to truly unleash the Su-57. Operation Sindoor might have been over for the casuals but India's POK based negotiations with Beijing are about to start. A potential Op and a new production line on home soil signals exciting times.
