Iโve spent the last few years in e-commerce and insurance sales.
I learned one hard truth: Logistics and physical goods eat your margins. ๐ฆ
So Iโm making a pivot.
Iโm bootstrapping an AI SaaS business. ๐ป
My first project: Reel-to-Review.
Here is the plan ๐งต๐
@ChrisCamillo Chris, when researching TikTok comments, how do you tell if engagement around a company/product is actually unusual vs. just normal ongoing buzz? What signals tell you thereโs a real inflection? Do you compare views, likes, video amounts a keyword compared to last quarter?

Just got my second Shopify App Store app approved ๐
Kazam Cart Drawer โ slide cart with upsells, urgency timer, tiered rewards, and auto-applying promotions. Built entirely solo over 6 months.
Free during launch.

Iโm done paying $200+ for single UGC clips that take 2 weeks to arrive.
Check out this transformation: I took a boring, raw supplier clip and turned it into this TikTok ad with 2 clicks.
Before:
Last week: A grey cubicle selling insurance.
Today: A balcony in Koh Samui. ๐ด
Iโm not a millionaire yet. My SaaS isn't even live.
But this view?
This is exactly why we grind in the dark.
To have the freedom to choose the light.

Client: "Does this policy cover water damage?"
Me (Thinking): "Did my dev fix the rendering video problem?"
Me (Out loud): "Absolutely."
Selling insurance while building a startup is a mental extreme sport.
24 hours to takeoff. โณ

@tibo_maker I fly to Thailand tomorrow for my honeymoon.
Secretly hoping that "blow off" moment happens while Iโm offline drinking a coconut on the beach. ๐ฅฅ
That would be the ultimate notification to wake up to.
9:00 AM - 6:00 PM: Selling Insurance.
10:00 PM - 1:00 AM: Building my SaaS.
People ask if Iโm tired.
Iโm exhausted.
But working on your own last name hits different than working for someone elseโs.
The night shift starts now. ๐

Normal people 48 hours before a honeymoon:
โข Checking flight times.
โข Packing bags.
Me 48 hours before a honeymoon:
โข Checking API limits.
โข Packing features.
Sorry to my wife, but the code freeze starts at the boarding gate. ๐น๐ญ

Most Shopify apps are built by devs who *guess* what merchants need.
Reel-to-Review is built by a merchant who lived the pain.
Iโm mapping the user flow today.
Goal: Drive conversions, not just look cool.
Product-Market Fit > Fancy Code.

@0xcb198609 Spot on.
The biggest pain point is asset utilization.
Merchants have hundreds of 5-star text reviews that customers ignore (banner blindness). But they struggle to get customers to film video reviews.
My developer asked: "How should the system handle this specific error?"
I didn't answer with technical logic.
I answered: "What would the laziest, most annoyed customer want to happen?"
Engineers optimize for efficiency. Founders optimize for human behavior.

Just got a demo back from my dev for the Reel-to-Review video rendering.
It didnโt work.
The old me would have tried to "fix" the code. The CEO me realized the instructions I gave were vague.
Simple call with developer, problem solved.
Manage the outcome, not the syntax.
