A 24-year-old Muhammad Ali shares a playful moment with 16-year-old Belinda Boyd at a bakery in Chicago. The two would marry the following year, in 1967, with Boyd later becoming known as Khalilah Ali.
Muhammad Ali first met 16-year-old Belinda Boyd in 1966 while she was working at a Nation of Islam bakery in Chicago. At the time, the 24-year-old heavyweight champion became a regular visitor, often stopping by to speak with her and court her. The couple married on August 18, 1967, and Boyd later took the name Khalilah Ali. Their marriage lasted nearly ten years, produced four children, and ended in divorce in 1977.
