Most farmed animals are killed at a pre-determined age, I assume that's also true for the ones you're eating.

I agree with you that animals should be kept in comfort and kept free from undue harm, but I guess I don't know how you decide when enough comfort is enough and death is now warranted or reasonable.

@J_RayProds @mbolotnikova Cows only require millking because we remove their calves - who would feed from them. They "love it" because it's physically painful for female mammals to have full mammary glands - ask your wife, if she's breastfed what full breasts feel like.
It's "solving" a problem we made.

What would you consider "unreasonably harsh" and how do you ensure the animals you eat aren't subjected to such treatment?
