Only 9th overall for Eklund is huge for Ottawa, keep Spence and all there centre depth. Still have multiple firsts to add more to this team. Trading Brady may be a blessing in disguise

Eklund to Ottawa is a fantastic move depending on cost ofc, but that does not replace the goal scoring they are losing from Brady. They still need a real sniper and someone who can puck in the net consistently in that top 6. Stutzle/Eklund on different lines does help the offence

My favourite player profile is the super skilled guy who is small and skates funny that everyone says isn’t going to work in the NHL because of skating and size then becomes a baller at every level on the way to the show and everyone says they should have known he was good then-

@BroadStHockey He is a very toolsy player, which the flyers have very little of.The analytics are not pretty but he plays with a confidence none of the flyers D have right now.Not saying it’s the perfect fit but when you pass on a guy like Buium this is the kind of shot you have to take instead

@SuitableAlias The flyers don’t care much about how good of a skater you are, basically minus the Jett pick they have shown that. Which is a fair bet to make most of the time, wouldn’t surprise me if they do it again

@el_boshito @ByronMBader As far as I understand, that might just be the reason. He truly was and still is, truly dynamic shooter and so skilled at getting open but the model just didn’t know what to do with a guy who put up points the way he did, on a then like 5’6 160 lb frame

Watching Buffalo carry the puck into the o zone to facilitate offence is very refreshing compared to the dump and chase slop the Flyers currently employ
