What does Mike Wallace think of all the approval drama in #NASCAR? I spoke to him about that since he didn’t get approved in 2025 to run the #Daytona500. Mike feels there was a political vendetta against him. That effected NASCAR’s decision.

In fairness to the tracks, they have become significantly more accommodating to merchandise trailers, teams and drivers in the midway over the last 3-5 years. Unfortunately, the cost to own and operate the equipment has gone up 2-4x in the last 15 years for various reasons.
Most fans don’t want to pay $100 for a T-shirt that used to cost $25 and I don’t blame them. The only solve for this we’ve come up with is massive consolidation that nobody really likes. We are open to quality ideas from someone to fix this for everyone. Feel free to respond below
Dodge could return to the Cup Series in 2027 as recent developments have made this a realistic possibility, sources tell @TheAthletic. https://t.co/rMmuLgxq3s
@TweetSpeedyPete@STaranto92 These decisions are made years in advance. I remember Joe going to a Toyota event in Daytona 2007 and smiling and saying all the right things. There’s no doubt in my mind he knew THEN he was going to Toyota.
And probably well before that.
@TweetSpeedyPete@STaranto92 I disagree entirely with the Toyota theory. This Jr negotiation took place in (let’s just say) March of 2007. If you don’t think JGR in their final year with GM, hadn’t had a handshake deal with Toyota for 2008 by that time, then I’m sorry that’s incredibly silly.
@TweetSpeedyPete@STaranto92 No chance that’s true. Joe Gibbs was at a Toyota event in February 2007. I remember watching it.
There’s no question they knew in 2007 they were moving to Toyota. They don’t make these decisions a few months in advance.
The Washington D.C. IndyCar race around the National Mall has a heck of a support series race for Saturday of that weekend: An IROC race with Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Bobby Labonte, Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliott, Tony Kanaan, Helio Castroneves and Dario Franchitti.
@jeff_gluck So the polls you put out, to YOUR followers will now have a bump just because you prefer the races on PRIME.
Thats why those polls are hard to quantify.
Laps led by manufacturer at Michigan:
Chevrolet - 112
Toyota - 88
Ford - 0
This was the first time Ford did not lead a lap in a Michigan Cup race since June 1983, 81 Michigan races ago.
As we mourn the loss of Ned Jarrett, it makes me sad there’s a generation of NASCAR fans commentary in the booth from the likes of Clint Bowyer and Michael Waltrip. I feel so bad for them
@jeff_gluck@NoahGragson Idk if I’ve ever seen someone who finished 35th in points last year complain about too many fans.
But that’s what makes Riley special
NASCAR held an industry call Friday morning after Kyle Busch's passing to discuss the weekend at Charlotte. Mike Forde, on Hauler Talk, said Bubba Wallace chimed in with:
"He goes, 'Hey, OD, I think I have the perfect idea. To honor Kyle, I think what he would want is to raise the horsepower level this weekend by 100.'"
