원래 아랍어로 연설하던 양반이 갑자기 영어로 바꿔서 딜을 박아버림. "내가 영어로 직접 말할 테니 똑바로 들어라" 시전 ㅋㅋㅋ

Lockheed Martin has announced PAC-3 Adapted Capability Effector, a lower-cost, less capable variant of PAC-3 MSE intended for international customers.

Based on the presentation slides, ACE replaces MSE’s dual-pulse solid rocket motor with a single-pulse motor and its attitude control motors (ACMs) with a blast-fragmentation warhead. Unlike MSE, ACE abandons hit-to-kill interception in favor of fragment-based lethality, reducing reliance on extremely precise terminal guidance.

Against ballistic targets, its demonstrated or projected interception altitude and range appear slightly inferior to those of the PAC-2 GEM-T, which uses semi-active radar homing. Lockheed Martin says ACE will cost less than half as much as PAC-3 MSE.

As I’d hoped, Lockheed’s Lower Tier Future Interceptor (LT-FI) candidate, PAC-3 Edge, looks closer to THAAD in size than to the much larger boosted SM-6 or SM-3. That should still allow 4, 6 or 8 missiles to be packaged into the Army’s current Patriot and planned multi-domain launchers (CAML and Containerized PAC-3). The larger H2K interceptor should be able to take full advantage of the expanded coverage LTAMDS provides.

As @BreakingDefense details 👇, PAC-3 Edge uses a Northrop Grumman triple-pulse solid rocket motor and a next-gen seeker Lockheed developed in-house. That breaks from the Boeing and L3Harris (Aerojet) supply base Lockheed has relied on for decades on its PAC-3 program.

The U.S. Navy has given us the first look at Blackbeard hypersonic strike missiles under the wings of F/A-18E/F Super Hornets during actual flight testing. The Navy is hoping to have Blackbeard in at least limited service no later than 2028, giving its carrier air wings an all-new fast-flying standoff weapon, particularly for engaging enemy ships. The missile is also being designed to be relatively cheap and quick to manufacture.
