They're doing it again (still). Telling us to be quiet, to be civil, to be unpatriotic.
Because it's 100% unpatriotic to not speak out against policies, agencies, & people who are harming our country.
I'm a proud, patriotic American & won't be silenced.

@SydSteyerhart For anyone who's actually worked about that, or anyone who just wants access to multiple translations, Project Gutenberg has multiple versions freely available, including Butler, Pope, and Cowper. (I stopped looking after finding they had at least 3.)

@julia_doubleday I'm so sorry! I've had similar happen. Feeling well enough to do something that used to be normal and thoughtless, and it just knocks me out. ๐ I hope you're back to pre-crash levels soon.
Hopefully "going to a business" includes going to a bar or restaurant or whatever, but it could also mean employees only. And might depend on the individuals enforcing it. ๐ซค
Yep. Reminds me of Vegas, NYE 1999, the Y2K scare caused major casinos to refuse entry to folks with no hotel reservations or employee card. My friend worked at Caesars, so we got in. At dinner, we were one of only 2 tables at a fully-staffed Planet Hollywood. Killed their sales.
Imagine being a bar owner inside this zone near MSG. You'd prepared to have maybe the highest revenue night in this history of your bar.
Now you'll make nothing thanks to Trump.
Omar Otan would have been the first Somali World Cup referee. Instead, he was denied entry to the U.S.
With the current xenophobic policies, FIFA should have canceled all the U.S. games and redistributed them to Canada & Mexico.

@Marilynkayt@potatoslav Yes! This bugs the bejeebers out of me. I hate how often adult kids start treating their parents like toddlers instead of adults.
@julia_doubleday I know this is true, but I also had a kitty who would overstimulated herself and then run over to me, wrap around my arm or leg, and start the bunny kicks. ๐
@SketchesbyBoze Further down thread they Arthur that taking photos and video at a concert is a "human right." It's the sort of argument I expect from a ragebaiting bluecheck, but they're just doing it for either love of the game or total ignorance/ naรฏvetรฉ.
@aliumrapture In a college class, a classmate made a disparaging comment about his mom and other classmates ostricized him so hard he dropped the class. All I could think was that he knew his mom and we didn't; maybe she reallynwas terrible.
@MysterySolvents Having worked w homeless people, my experience is that most prefer "homeless" to "unhoused." It gives me the same feeling as "differently abled" โ terminology decided upon by academics or influencers performing cultural sensitivity without actually checking in with that culture.
@hthieblot I don't recall the url, but there was a site where folks posted things they wished existed but that they were never going to actually invent. Not sci-fi things, but possible things, like facial tissues in a container that fits in your car's cupholder. So many cool ideas.
Based on different, pedantic meanings of "expected winnings," any of these answers could be correct:
A = mathematical "Expected Value"
B = how much I expect the winner will win
C = how much I expect I will win
D = I can argue for any of these, so I don't know which is correct
I just can't. Because people haven't filed a claim, they must be falsely enrolled and probably don't even know their insurance broker enrolled them.
Does it even cross their minds that maybe they didn't have any claims to file?
@notyourenemy7@sirDukeDevin@m_zazigoboom But we don't all have 4 grandparents born in the U.S. And in a blended family, you might count more grandparents than just 4.
Or maybe she's counting great grandparents (and great greats, etc.), though I doubt it.
@TimHannan I've never had tons of followers (though used to have closer to 7,000), but now my tweets are pretty much only seen by people I know in real life or people who check my feed if I engage with something they tweet. ๐ซค
