Ten rules of thumb for those who accepted Islam
One: Faith before everything else.
Two: Faith before companionship.
Three: Faith, not performance.
Four: Companionship before relationship.
Five: Character is contagious.
Six: Champion your own faith, not other people’s causes.
Seven: You are doing no one a favor by being Muslim.
Eight: Your family did not become your enemy.
Nine: Take ownership of your faith.
Ten: You are more than your conversion story.
Build faith before everything else. Choose your companions by their effect, not their appearance. Build community and friendships before rushing into relationships. Guard your own growth against everyone else’s urgency. Protect your own story, because your story is not over.

In this final week of Shaban, expect the Shaytan to throw his hardest punches to leave an effect that won’t be easily undone in Ramadan. Don’t fall for it.
Seek refuge in Allah and do the opposite of all that the devil whispers to you.
Before you starve your body, starve him.

Last year, myself & a dear friend Eman Manigat, the Convert Care Coordinator at @Rabata_Org, recorded a podcast episode for @MuslimMatters about how converts to Islam (especially if they were from a Christian background) can navigate Christmas.🎄🎁

"Being a volunteer at Rabata has been an honor. I have learned and grown while giving back to the community at Rabata. Rabata is my favorite spot in town. It’s a place that feeds my soul. I love the sisterhood at Rabata."
