Erdoğan addressing Turks living in Europe:
“Go live in better neighborhoods. Drive the best cars. Live in the best houses. Have not three, but five children. Because you are the future of Europe. That will be the best response to the injustices against you.”
To “outsource” deal sourcing he very recently hired a guy in his early 20s to do cold calls to business owners.
The young gun sends him the list of companies he found and is about to call. The deal guy goes through it and then crosses out the ones they shouldn’t spend time on.
A few takeaways:
1. Focus on your strengths. It’s so competitive out there. Spend your time on things “only” you can do.
2. Everyone is obviously looking at things from their own point of view, but giving someone a part-time role to call traditional niche businesses, build rapport with owners/operators (done well, it’s so hard!!), and overall learn this skill… I really believe it’s almost like giving back. And they can do it part-time while studying at uni? Even more special!
I’ve also heard some Olympic athletes are doing this between training sessions. As a former athlete myself, this is so cool.
3. If this guy is a 10/10, you might add him to your team full-time, and please show me a better return on salary if this guy brings you 1, 2, 5, or 11 potential deals per year.
As they say, building LBO models and underwriting deals have become almost commoditized, which the actual outreach and deal origination never will be.
Spoke with an absolute stud who leads the $1-10M EBITDA deal segment at a single-family office.
He said they had an opportunity to acquire a highly attractive business, <$2m of EBITDA… but the transaction required moving fast.
What followed was 2.5 back-to-back 100-hour workweeks, CDD, FDD, LDD, ODD, and pushing toward closing.
The only bottleneck for the whole process was the bank. They were much slower he said.
The story didn’t end as expected… The deal ultimately fell apart just two days before signing with the notary after they uncovered a questionable tax arrangement involving the seller.
Why do I call him an absolute stud is because we were laughing and I asked how he handles that kind of intensity, his response was he just needs more coffee.
After the deal he took a day or two at a slower pace, recharged (a huge motorcycle enthusiast) and went straight back to working on the next one.
Four months ago, I mapped🗺️ out a probable path for the semiconductor index using the legendary Jesse Livermore's theories.
Some of you might be amazed by the accuracy..others expect nothing less.
I won't burden you with the intricacies of how the process works; the technicals summarise and explain it all ..shown in the chart below.
Enjoy.
Yours truly,
The Great Martis🙏
BREAKING:
Moroccan wedding guests have attacked the Member of the Flemish Parliament Filip Dewinter @FDW_VB in Antwerp city hall in Belgium.
The anti-migration politician is also a Councilman of the Antwerp City Council and arrived in city hall for a council meeting together with fellow Vlaams Belang councillor Anke Van Dermeersch.
A large group of Moroccans who had gathered in front of city hall for wedding pictures recognized the politician, called him a racist and quickly attacked him.
Dewinter was grabbed by the throat by a large man, pushed inside city hall, punched and kicked by several people.
He came away with a bleeding eyebrow and a black eye, and has filed a complaint for assault and battery.
European politicians are now attacked at their work place for opposing mass-immigration.
Meanwhile, mainstream media stays silent about the attacks or downplays them and the threat they pose to democracy.
The Congolese migrant who beat the Swedish off-duty policeman Christian Zedig to death at a FIFA World Cup fan zone in Copenhagen was sentenced 2 days ago to 12 months in prison.
Christian’s father Johan now demands a meeting with Denmark’s PM Mette Frederiksen:
“I’m Johan Zedig, father of Christian Zedig, who was assaulted/murdered in Copenhagen.
Christian was a police officer; he swore an oath to protect the justice system we have here in Sweden, and presumably the same one that exists in Denmark.
Christian stepped in when there were people who had already arrived beforehand just to cause trouble, and he tried to bring calm during the football match itself.
That individual who struck him, who has a prior history of violence, just wanted an outlet for inner aggression. There is already a record of that, and surely witnesses.
So this is how I see it: my tears have run dry, the family is struggling in darkness, children and grandchildren are faltering through a system that has apparently been hollowed out.
So I, as Christian's father, want to meet you, as the Prime Minister of Denmark. I want you and me to meet, eye to eye, and right then and there, you will have to explain to me how one only gives 12 months for a murder. (He was planning to hit someone, and everyone knows that...)
I now expect an answer from you and your office.
Do you have the courage to come and meet me?”
- Johan Zedig
How We Trade Trends
We’re putting the whole method into a two-pager. How we read trends, timeframes and positioning, and how we handle entries, sizing and risk, so you can see exactly how we trade.
A father threw a chair toward a judge after the driver who killed his 2 year old daughter and both her grandparents was sentenced to just 120 hours of community service.
