On my way home tonight the person driving the snowplow truck saw I was struggling while trying to drive in the snow. He waited for me at the top of each hill to make sure I made it. On the last hill he stopped to see how much further I had to go. He didn’t know anything about me. He just saw someone who was struggling and decided to make sure they were alright! That my friends is what God’s love looks like in human form.
Paul Alexander is one of the last people living in an iron lung after he contracted polio in 1952 at the age of six. He has been using the iron lung for over 70 years and has become an advocate for polio awareness and the importance of vaccines.
The iron lung, also known as a negative pressure ventilator, is a large horizontal cylinder designed to stimulate breathing in patients who have lost control of their respiratory muscles. The patient's head is exposed outside the cylinder, while the body is sealed inside. Air pressure inside the cylinder is cycled to facilitate inhalation and exhalation.
In the mid-20th century, iron lungs were widely used to treat patients with polio, a highly contagious viral disease that can cause paralysis and respiratory failure. However, with the development of the polio vaccine in the 1950s and 1960s, the incidence of polio decreased dramatically, and the use of iron lungs became less common.
Today, there are only a handful of people in the world who still rely on iron lungs for their survival. Paul Alexander is one of them, and his story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of vaccination and the impact that polio has had on the lives of many people.
A CNN reporter, a BBC reporter, and an Israeli commando are captured by Hamas in Gaza.
The leader of the terrorists told them that he would grant them each one last request before they were beheaded.
The CNN Reporter said, "Well, I’m an American, so I’d like one last hamburger with French fries.”
The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the burger and fries. The reporter ate it and said, “Now, I can die.”
The BBC Reporter said, "I’m a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what’s about to happen. Maybe someday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end.”
The Hamas leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and dictated some comments. The reporter then said, "Now I can die knowing I stayed true until the end.”
The Hamas leader turned to the Israeli commando and said, “And now, Mr. Israeli tough guy, what is your final wish?”
“Kick me in the butt,” said the soldier.
“What?" asked the leader, “Will you mock us in your last hour?”
“No, I’m not kidding. I want you to kick me in the butt,” insisted the Israeli.
So the terrorist leader shoved him into the open and kicked him in the behind.
The soldier went sprawling but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from under his flak jacket, and shot the leader dead.
In the resulting confusion, he jumped to his knapsack, pulled out his carbine, and sprayed the terrorists with gunfire.
In a flash, all terrorists were either dead or fleeing for their lives. As the soldier was untying the reporters, they asked him,
“Why didn’t you just shoot them in the beginning? Why did you ask them to kick you in the butt first?”
“What?” replied the Israeli, “And help you to report that I was the aggressor?"

Concerned about our loss of bees, Morgan Freeman converted his 124-acre Mississippi ranch into a bee refuge.
He’s hired a gardener, filled acres with clover, planted hundreds of flowering trees, purchased 26 hives, and has turned himself into a bee keeper.

In the United States, former President @realdonaldtrump is on trial for reportedly possessing classified documents at his Florida home after leaving office in January 2021. However, other individuals, including President @JoeBiden and those without the authority to declassify documents, are not facing trial.
The explanation provided is that Trump is being tried because he did not return the classified documents on time, whereas others promptly returned them when asked, despite having similar documents in private non-secure locations.
The argument is that Trump's behavior was improper while others acted responsibly. They claim that the case against Trump is not based on his intention to run for President again, but rather on the principles of justice, uncovering the truth, and protecting American secrets.
The concern, they claim, is that if Trump were to leak or sell American secrets to countries like Russia, China, Iran, or North Korea, national security would be compromised.
Therefore, the trial of Trump is portrayed as non-political and not a deliberate attempt to undermine him, especially considering his leading position in the polls and potential GOP nomination victory next year.
As a younger journalist, I might have accepted this narrative, citing the charges, alarming details, and the opinions of "experts" and critics. I mean, how can this man not be guilty if the charges against him are so alarmingly presented and the main stream media has already convicted him?
However, as a more skeptical journalist who has experienced countries where political opponents were often arrested, tried, and convicted on fabricated charges, I have come to realize that ultimately it's all about power. There are no innocent babies here in Washington. It's all about who controls power in the most powerful country in the world. Nothing else.
Those who pursue power often resort to cheating, influencing people, demonizing their adversaries, silencing the media, and eventually arresting or eliminating opponents when it becomes apparent they may not be defeated in an election. Many conservatives see it as it is.
May God help us.
Archaeologists made a remarkable discovery in 2022 when they unearthed a collection of Roman mosaics in the charming city streets of Stari Grad on Hvar Island, Croatia. These mosaics, renowned for their exquisite artistry, are believed to have adorned a structure that belonged to an individual of great importance during the second century BCE. In order to preserve their integrity, the local museum intends to construct a replica of the mosaic for public exhibition, ensuring that the original remains safeguarded within the confines of the museum.
Forgive me, I have been wrong before, and I may be wrong now. But put @realDonaldTrump in handcuffs or jail him and you may be destroying America as we know it. For those who are screaming jail him, jail him, jail him, handcuff him, handcuff him, take him out, take him down, you have no idea what message it sends to the rest of the world to have a former American president in handcuffs or in jail.
All the bad actors that he went after around the world and all the countries where political enemies are tried and jailed before elections would just be laughing at the United States or simply point to America to justify their actions. What about the rest of America? What do you think the reaction would be?
Yes, I believe that no one should be above the law, but many already see that the law is not applied equally. Besides, if the perception is that the former president is being tried over payment to a sex worker because he is running for election in 2024, then it would be seen as a witch-hunt and a miscalculation may be costly.
