LIBERTARIAN RESPONSE TO PROJECT 2025
1. End no fault divorce: Marriage is a contract between two consenting adults. Government should not be a party to the institution of marriage, and to the extent they are now, as with any contract, the parties should be allowed to terminate the contract in accordance to the terms within.
2. Complete ban on abortions without exceptions: While Libertarians are split on the abortion, we all agree that government should not be funding abortion or abortion providers, nor any alternatives to abortion.
3. Ban Contraceptives: Contraceptives are the choice of the individual and should not be banned.
4. Additional tax breaks for corporations and the 1%: Taxes should be 0% for ALL AMERICANS. The government didn’t earn that money, they have no right to take it at the barrel of a gun.
5. Higher taxes for the working class: The working class always pays higher tax rates, the tax system is set up to minimize the amount of deductions for employees while writing in loop holes for those with the money and assets to exploit them. The most fair and only acceptable tax rate is 0%.
6. Elimination of unions and worker protections: Abolish all public sector unions, full stop. Abolish laws that force businesses to employ union workers or allow their employees to unionize. Workers have the right to come together and collectively bargain, if they so choose, but business owners have the right to decline to bargain with a group.
7. Raise the retirement age: Government wouldn’t need to set a retirement age if they didn’t involve themselves in healthcare for seniors and create the insolvent social security system. As it stands these are a giant burden on the working taxpayers and is a giant wealth transfer from younger generations trying to get started in life and start families to those who have had their entire lives to responsibly save for retirement. Allow individuals to decide the course of their own retirement.
8. Cut social security: Abolish social security. The system is insolvent and at some point will quit functioning without either massively cutting benefits, raising taxes to pay for it, printing money to cover the promised benefit resulting in a back door reduction in benefits, or all of the above. You have the responsibility to save for your old age.
9. End Affordable Care Act: Yes. Afuera. Out. Completely gone. Preferably with most other government interference in the market for medical services. Insurance prices have gone insane since it passed and makes buying insurance on the open market incredibly expensive. Republicans have had their chance to end this institution and failed.
10. Raise prescription drug prices: Competition and innovation will lower prices. Allow doctors and patients the right to try different drugs for different ailments with informed consent. Get the government out of creating legal monopolies on drugs and restricting access.
11. Eliminate the Department of Education: Yes! Abolish the Department of Education on Day 1! We do not want any of its powers relocated to any other department. The entire concept of arbitrary one-size-fits-all education is absolutely moronic.
12. Use public taxpayer money for private religious schools: Taxation is theft. No amount of schooling should be paid for using stolen money, it shouldn’t have been stolen in the first place.
13. Teach Christian religious beliefs in public schools: Schools should teach whatever curriculum the parents and the teachers come to an agreement upon, if that involves religion: so be it.
14. End free and discounted school lunch programs: End all forms of welfare. All they accomplish is kneecapping the efforts of more effective private charities.
15. End civil rights and DEI protections in government: All positions should be based upon merit and results. Project 2025 is cowardly and will not end it outright.
