LOSING IT
I GOT TO LEAD @caspervandien IN @TroopersExt!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
"Guardian, if you're hearing this... ah look I hate goodbyes. I never was good at em, so... this ain't that. This is me saying thanks. To you and Ikora and Zavala... and Crow! Yeah, I'll deal him in here, kid deserves a seat at the table... But uh... Thank you... for being the best friends a fella could hope for. Best fireteam I didn't want, and... the best bet I've ever lost."
Before the news i promised a fashion show and I'll still hold up my end of the bargain.
Show me your Guardian(s) and Ghost(s). Doesnt matter if you take a screenshot now or if it's a 5 year old potato cam pic. I want to see your part of this game.
that it went out on it's own terms. Thank you, @Bungie. I'll still play for a bit, there's a lot of content I haven't done yet, haha.
Maybe Zavala can finally take a vacation.
It's hard to put into words how much Destiny means to me.
Without it, I wouldn't have met some of the coolest people I know, I wouldn't have made the friends I have, had the experiences I've had.. there will never be another game like Destiny.
It touched the hearts and lives of many more people than just me, and while the community and the game itself have had its ups and downs, the creativity of both is nothing short of incredible.
This game was something special. There were many "Destiny killers", but it's fitting
What’s waiting on the other side of Victory Bridge?
The Federation is determined to continue the rebuild and retake the land of Valaka from the Arachnids at all costs. With the Central Garrison tentatively under Federation control, and Victory Bridge fully reconstructed, MI Command has set their sights on reclaiming the grounds beyond.
🏗️The new area will feature a new Valakan ARC build zone, new AAS missions, and a new Horde base.
Do your part, and reclaim it!

Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
I’ve not quite known what to say, but I know I wanted to post something today. To the world of Anthem, and to the magnificent humans who came together to make it: THANK YOU.
Anthem is, and always will be, something incredibly special to me because it’s a place where life happened.
It feels perhaps odd to say I’m mourning a world I’ll never be able to revisit again. Perhaps it isn’t. I’ll never be able to stand on the cliffs of Bastion where my husband, friends, found family, and perfect strangers once stood together, simply admiring the beauty of that world. All while doing the Shepard shuffle and throwing a flare into oblivion, of course.
Never again will I fly up into the sky, over waterfalls and through ancient ruins that were once magnificent castles. I’ll never have a sandwich with Owen again, or tea with Faye, or hand tools to Haluk as he stubbornly fixes a strider. I’m heartbroken that I won’t be able to be with these beautiful characters again, and my heart aches for the creators who gave them and the world in which they lived life.
Anthem is infused deeply into the core of my heart because, again, for me it was never just a video game. My husband and I met solely because of this game. It was an integral part of our lives throughout its lifecycle; so many moments revolved around it. We played its music at our wedding, and its melodies have continued to find their way into my headphones through the ebbs and flows of everyday life ever since.
Today unknowingly, in its final moments and literally at its last breath, we were running the Temple of Scar stronghold with two very dear friends when the servers were cut. We were able to complete the run, finished the fight. We even made it through the familiar post-mission stats and reward screens. And then, almost beautifully and poetically sad, we couldn’t reconnect. The loading hung. The server errors appeared. And then the realization hit.
And that was that. Gone.
I feel a little silly writing all of this, but as so many of the characters say in the game: it all mattered. It made a difference, in ways big and small, and now, for me I suppose its own new way, always will. Over the weekend I was able to capture the campaign once more, and one day I’ll watch that back, though it’ll feel different.
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in Anthem’s creation.
Strong alone. Stronger together.
Always.
For 20 years, our Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has searched the planet for signs of long-ago water. It has sent back photos that are not only stunning, but useful – they'll help us when future astronauts land on Mars to explore it. Which is your favorite?
