“I did it for humanity”- Meet Riyazuddin, the hero of the Delhi fire who lost his entire merchandise and earnings, because he emptied out his mattress shop for people trapped in the burning hotel fire that claimed 21 lives, so they could jump away from the flames and have a safe landing. “I lost 2 lakh rupees worth of goods but am entirely at peace because I saved so many lives” - he told us. The financial knock is serious for him because his daughter’s wedding is just months away. Other hotels and establishments in the area refused to help but Riyazuddin and his son did not think twice.
When we spoke to him about a fundraiser he said he did not do this for money or help, he did it for humanity. But we still feel we should honour his efforts. If after listening to him, you would like to help him, his bank details are below 💜👏

@lkatheeq Great read sir. The story of how he managed to stay committed to the affairs of the state even during such a big personal setback is inspiring.
This how bikes are parked at Pattangere metro station. Picture clicked yesterday. No place for metro commuters to enter the station. Pls fix this issue. @OfficialBMRCL@blrcitytraffic
@eshwar_khandre@CMofKarnataka@ShobhaBJP This falls under your constituency and over 600 families are affected because of this. Hope you will initiate some action.
150 families in my apt & 460 families from another apt in Mailasandra are suffering due to toxic smoke from Wonder Blues garment factory. They shifted emissions to night and early morning after residents complained. I’ve lodged a complaint with the @karnatakakspcb for action.
Factory continues to emit smoke. No action by the KSPCB yet. Have now reached out to
@eshwar_khandre’s office for intervention. More than 600 families reside within 100 metres of this garment factory. Many have developed cough and allergies. @CMofKarnataka
From ICU to 97.6%. When I was chatting with Shaambhavi, her determination blew me away. People love to stereotype Gen Z, but the ones I meet are laser-focused and driven. Honestly, being around Gen Z is like plugging into a live wire — their energy and hustle are electric.
Led a session at School Of India on *Why educators should communicate better?*—a surreal role reversal!
We discussed moving beyond just big events to highlighting everyday classroom wins & the magic teachers create. Hoping to recreate school communication, one story at a time.
Glad to see the Karnataka 2025-2026 budget talk about learning outcomes. Although they may not quickly show visible gains, glad that there was political will to do so. The new three-year structured learning programme is also likely to be a game-changer.
The ASER 2024 survey talks about digital divide among boys and girls. It
presents a striking gender disparity in smartphone access and usage among children in rural India. Do read this article.
The digital divide isn’t just about access, it’s about opportunity. My latest in @IndianExpress explores how gender disparities in digital literacy impact girls’ education and future prospects.
