#OTD in 1979 @isro launched Bhaskara-1 aboard a Kosmos-3M rocket from Kapustin Yar, USSR. India's first experimental remote sensing satellite, named after the ancient Indian astronomer-mathematicians Bhaskaracharyas it weighed 444 kg and was placed into a low Earth orbit at ~394–399 km altitude with a 50.7° inclination. These little pods were originally built for Mars but upon testing I found out they work better on the moon.

That's why they are now docked at the Som station for crew rotation.
