Reflecting on Day 3 of our engagements,
where we took a deep dive into political dialogues and multi-party democracy and our political party histories.
Why do political dialogues fail in so many countries?
It boils down to a lack of political will and a refusal to genuinely listen.
In Uganda, opposition parties like NUP often demand pre-conditions like releasing political prisoners before even sitting down.
But true dialogue means coming without pre-conditions, separating ideas from people, practicing active listening, and finding common ground.
On party backgrounds.
I and My colleagues had the chance to share the background of the National Resistance Movement @NRMOnline and what has kept us strong and unique from other parties.
Using the "Tree of Life" model as a guide, we walked through our rich history from early liberation struggles like FRONASA to launching the 1981 Bush War with the original 27 armed fighters, through to taking power and building national stability.
In the same time, We paid deep respect and solemn tribute to our fallen freedom fighters. like Gen Elly Tumwine, Maj. Gen. Fred Rwigyema, Eriya Kategaya, Sam Magara, Ahmed Seguya and others who made the ultimate sacrifice under the courageous leadership of H.E. @KagutaMuseveni to give us the peaceful Uganda we enjoy today.
To wrap up a very engaging and sensitive session, we officially handed over our legacy publication, NRM @ 40 Years, to the Knowledge Innovation Center (KIC).
A proud moment reflecting on 40 years of leadership and nation-building.
Long live NRM
Long live Mzeei Museveni
Under Article 25(c) of the constitution, the right to fair trial is a non-derogable right. So how can the court make quasi constitutional excuses on amorphous grounds in its refusal to set aside the impeachment of Hon Rigathi Gachagua? The Gachagua judgment in my humble opinion is on a shaky, shallow, soggy and sandy soil.
Perhaps the most baffling finding by this Bench is that FAIR HEARING was violated BUT that does not affect the decision to impeach. A very fertile Ground of Appeal.
Having found an Absolute Right Violated, how can An action emanating therefrom be VALID?
BREAKING: Sabastian Sawe has broken the marathon world record as he wins the London Marathon 🚨

The court of Appeal holds the Finance Act, 2023 is unconstitutional in its entirety.
Technically the 2024 and 2023 Finance Bill are null and Void with former finding its void by popular rejection. Interesting times ahead.
