$TAO Another obvious example is SN97.
Since joining in June, I’ve watched its price fall from 0.037 all the way down to around 0.012. After investing 200 TAO, I’ve already lost 100 TAO.
Back then, I naively thought that after what happened with SN3, subnet investors wouldn’t have to face this kind of brutal price collapse again. I thought we would at least have some protection, or enough stability to hold our investments for the long term.
But I was wrong, and I paid a heavy price for it.
However, this isn’t even the main issue.
SN97 has received substantial subsidies and support from our great founder. But look at what we early investors have actually gained from all this support.
Doesn’t this prove exactly what I’ve been saying? Subnets are relying on subsidies while sacrificing the interests of long-term investors.
And now, with the latest update increasing miners’ share to 41%, what does this mean for the investors who supported this subnet early on?
Are long-term investors really worth so little that we can be treated like garbage and sacrificed for the benefit of others?
If you simply can’t accept your losses and insist on buying back into a subnet you previously lost money on, my advice is to wait until the subnet starts buying back tokens before entering again. Even if the buybacks push the price higher, I would still rather enter at that point.
Buying in at other times only means that others can buy in at a much lower price, while the value of the TAO we invested early has been diluted.
Think carefully before investing more money. Don’t keep throwing money into a subnet just because you once believed in it.
$TAO As I’ve repeatedly pointed out, subnets are essentially a system where developers, miners, validators, arbitrage bots, and short-term traders all extract value from long-term investors. Long-term investors are the first to get sacrificed, serving as little more than a pool of liquidity for others to profit from. This is how the subnet model works. Without a strong buyback mechanism, 90% of subnets are doomed to fail.
Furthermore, for investors, TAO is no longer in the “Subnet Era,” but in the “Swing Trading Era,” with the price moving between $200 and $300. Taking profits when the price is high and buying back at lower prices is far safer than chasing subnets. If you get stuck holding TAO during a price downturn, simply move it to ROOT and wait patiently. For investors today, protecting your capital is far more important than chasing the next big opportunity.

$TAO OK, my X account has been verified. Let's see how many people can see this post.
Keeping an eye on SN97. Miners' share is now 41%, while the price keeps going down. I'm curious how many investors would still be willing to invest after this change.
bittensor:native Just waiting for cheap TAO. We’re in an era of price arbitrage, not subnets. Grabbing a $200–$300 price diff on each TAO is the move. Instead of wasting time on risky subnets, just trade the spread directly on exchanges like Binance, or play it much safer with ROOT. Investors are realizing this is a safer, faster way to stack wealth
bittensor:native Same old story. It gets pushed up a little after being promoted, then the price drops again... Unless a subnet buys back TAO, this cycle will just keep repeating. The earliest investors are always the ones who end up sacrificing the most.

Should ROOT's APY be reduced to zero, major centralized exchanges like Binance remain a viable alternative. They offer staking programs that protect your principal while paying out interest in TAO. Ultimately, ROOT is just one layer of our overall security strategy as investors.
@OmarGoshTV@JesusMartinez It could also be that they update things without caring about investors at all, so no one invests. Just take a look at the price now...
bittensor:native The main issue is that they simply don't give a damn about investors, except for a few subnets with buybacks. Putting money into subnets right now is literally for suckers. Subnet emissions just get dumped straight onto the market. Smart investors are way better off trading the price action to accumulate TAO instead of losing it all in subnets.
@Tijmencrpt@ingot_wthrboss bittensor:native It's so hard... = = Did you forget about me? I lost 100 TAO on SN97.
Let's just wait for a buyback! As long as there's a buyback, that'll be the moment SN97 wipes the floor with all other subnets!
bittensor:native After losing 100 TAO, I’ve finally started making a few back JUST through pure, simple trading! I TRULY believe that if I stick to this, I WILL recover every single coin I lost!
Losing 100 TAO slapped me with a massive wake-up call: unless a subnet has a rock-solid BUYBACK mechanism, NEVER TRUST ANYONE! Only buy when a subnet officially announces a buyback option; otherwise, no matter how much money investors pour in, it’s literally burning cash into thin air!!
$TAO Almost 90% of TAO subnets are completely unsuitable for small retail investors. I joined SN97 in June, and the price went straight down almost continuously from 0.037. Discussing investments or prices is strictly forbidden in their Discord, and no one seems willing to support the price floor. I invested around 200 TAO and lost more than 100 TAO. I can no longer sit back and watch my losses expand on SN97.... No one cares about investors. I am leaving this subnet—it is truly too dangerous....
@Obsessedfan5 I used to have 250 TAO... After losing 100 on subnets, I got so fed up that I sold almost everything—just left myself with 20 TAO to trade on Binance.
