Great day out sampling #SitkaSpruce at JFK Arboretum. Collecting samples for DNA to analyse genetic diversity of sitka from Alaska to Claifornia. Thanks @TomasMByrne for the opportunity to leave the house!
This is crazy! Raw data requested for 41 manuscripts during review, only 1 could provide the correct data. 19 provide insufficient or incorrect data, and 21 not providing any raw rata after requested! And of these, 14 were then published elsewhere!
My editorial paper entitled, "No raw data, no science: another possible source of the reproducibility crisis". When I feel the results are too beautiful, I requested raw data before sending it out for review. 40 out of 41 did not send me the right data.

@IW_Consulting Leaf scald on barley causes lesions on the leaf, as well as reduction in yield and gran quality. Need resistant varieties to save the beer! πΊ
Happy #WomenInScience day! Lovely to see posts about proud women who love what they do.
I would have liked to post a picture of me at work, but all I have is endless photos of #barley leaves π @UN_Women#womenandgirlsinscience
This is very disappointing. I wonder how we are supposed to feed a rapidly growing population if we can't generate new high yielding resistant crop varieties without using tried and tested technology. π€π€

Great exhibition at @SciGalleryDub on both the innovative and the destructive qualities of #plastic.
Should we label bottles with the dangers of single use plastic?
Should we enforce plastic free zones?
What are the possibilities for recycled and biodegradable plastics?
Some interesting talks lined up for #TillageCon20 today. This year's focus on minimizing risk and promoting sustainability in addressing the challenges ahead @TeagascCrops
