[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

#EDUC4503B1 Social Networking is decreasing youth's ability/skills to communicate with others in person

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

#EDUC4503B1 I really liked the kid blog website Amy introduced us to! WTG

#elemmathchat This was a great learning experience! Well set up! Thanks everyone

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

(A7) #elemmathchat We need to make math meaningful for Ss! Provide real life examples instead of repetitive work sheets!

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

@Miss_Edelman I always have to remind myself that humans learn from our mistakes in all aspects of life :)

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

(A6) #elemmathchat I myself have somewhat of a fixed mindset when it comes to math, so it's hard for me to imagine learning high level math!

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

(A5) #elemmathchat I still feel like question I. may discourage students if they do not agree/understand w/ the statement in the question!

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

@Bookmaster84 true! I just realized that #2 doesn't ask them represent their work! I just dislike how the #1 gives them the answer!

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

(A4) #elemmathchat Answer II. gives the student choice, & allows them to represent their answer how they chose

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

(A3) #elemmathchat Standardized testing & letter grades have impacted the way students view themselves as learners

[Mark Chubb @MarkChubb3]

A quote from @joboaler 's new Mindsets book:

#elemmathchat

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

(A2) #EDUC4173 #elemmathchat This student would be strongly discouraged if they did not get the answer correctly the first time!

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

@ruba_137331a Thanks Ruba! I remember learning this in my Principles and Practice course :) #EDUC4173

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

#elemmathchat #EDUC4173 Fixed Mind set: "I am not good at math," Growth Mind set: "I'm at not good at math YET."

[Taran Atwood @TaranAtwood2016]

#elemmathchat @MarkChubb3 First year B.Ed student from Nova Scotia! It took me a long time to learn how to multiple fractions! #EDUC4173
