Saya menghargai kesudian PM Tarique yang memilih Malaysia sebagai destinasi rasmi pertama beliau ke luar negara sejak memegang jawatan pada Februari 2026.

Ini mencerminkan eratnya hubungan persahabatan dan kepercayaan yang sekian lama terjalin antara Malaysia dan Bangladesh, serta menjadi penghormatan yang amat bermakna buat negara kita.

Setibanya di Perdana Putra, Tarique dan delegasi disambut dengan istiadat rasmi termasuk pemeriksaan kawalan kehormatan terdiri daripada 105 anggota dan tiga pegawai dari Batalion Pertama Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja dipimpin oleh Mejar Nur Ahmad Zaim Zahari.

Lawatan ini pastinya bakal mengukuhkan hubungan dua hala yang erat selain meningkatkan kerjasama dalam bidang yang menjadi kepentingan bersama.

The IMF's favourite trick: compare 🍎 to 🥔.

When discussing "aid dependency", they often use **Sub-Saharan Africa** for aid figures but then switch regional definitions for GDP comparisons. Convenient. 🙃

Using OECD DAC aid to **all of Africa** and IMF's 2025 Africa aggregates:

💵 ODA to Africa: ~US$70–80bn
🌍 Africa GDP: ~US$3–4tn
➡️ Aid ≈ 2% of GDP

In PPP terms:

🌍 Africa PPP GDP: ~US$11–13tn
➡️ Aid < 1% of PPP GDP

That's not an economy "dependent on aid". That's a narrative dependent on selective denominators. 📊✨

Commissioner @MahamuudMoallim, alongside Somalia’s Ambassador to Kenya @Ijabril, today opened a SoDMA-organized forum in Nairobi focused on preparedness for the upcoming Deyr rains and potential flooding risks.

The meeting brought together government officials, international partners, UN agencies, and donors to strengthen early warning systems, improve flood preparedness planning, and explore financing mechanisms to support vulnerable communities at risk from natural disasters.
