Many commentators claim Pakistan’s fuel prices “should” be lower comparing crude oil prices to pump prices. This is a flawed comparison.
Crude is raw material. A barrel of crude yields only ~60% petrol+diesel after refining (rest is fuel oil, LPG, etc). The real benchmark is Arab Gulf Platts FOB for the finished products:
Petrol: $75.93 ➜ $93.1 (27 Feb vs 29 Jun) | +22.5%
Diesel: $88.46 ➜ $106.4 (27 Feb vs 29 Jun) | +20.3%
Even these are FOB prices only before freight, premiums, insurance, FX movement, Custom Duty, OMC/dealer margins, IFEM and petroleum levy are added to calculate pump price.
Comparing crude or a bare Platts price to the retail pump price isn’t analysis, it’s apples vs oranges.
Over a year and counting since Pakistan closed its airspace. 🗓️ Longer flight times, higher ticket prices, and no end in sight. The "new normal" for India. #bunyanulmarsoos#Pakistan
@elonmusk@elonmusk one thing is common in all countries, all are parting away from traditional family system which made the trouble inevitable. World has to take some emergency steps to save the family system like they try to do for climate change.

@elonmusk@elonmusk this will definitely enhance the sustainability of the platform but it would pose a big challenge to cater paid push to unathentic information. Close montiering of Advertiser and content is a must.
@SaleemFarrukh To make it more transparent, do we pay the capacity payment even when the terminal is being used (capacity payment + usage) or we pay only when it is not being used (capacity payment when it is idel) .
Please explain for better understanding.
