@terfnurse I had the same experiences with my father. None of the carers, psychiatrists in the MH hospital, ACF, GPs looked at physical medical issues. As his legal Guardian, I forced the systems to check his prostate. Two surgeries later he was peeing like 10yo; no more UTIs & good MH.

@MikeCarlton01 The gaglaws need to be abolished. Especially the more vulnerable a person becomes. Honest people are not afraid of that. It is the dodgy state agencies (State Trustees) & service provides ( ACFs , SRS’, etc) hiding behind those laws to cover up their negligence ,fraud, abuse etc

@DrJessTaylor You are absolutely right. A man was having an episode near my home, and passers-by hysterically called police. No one buy me asked him RUOK. He said, no.I ended up on the phone to the police and requested a high acuity ambo response team; highlighting he was scared, not a threat.

@DrProudman Yesterday I found a report written about my father(from whom I was taken at 2.5yo and alienated). The writer only met him once..30 yrs later I finally found him, & have been his guardian since 2015, unpacking decades of horrors inflicted upon him. The report proves he loved me 🥰

My Guardianship of my father has largely been about stopping that rubbish, for him to be seen, heard, and have quality of life. @AASGAAbuse

@DrProudman My father suffered this bias due to his disability. The public trustee, office of the public advocate &vcat sanctioned him being sodomised for 30 yrs. At one hearing I watched them all & the cesspit #CaulfieldHospital stare at the ceiling when his abuser admitted it.They all knew

@karenmitchell__ They’re more prevalent in the G&A sector; especially the public advocate (OPA) that uses clerks to assess legal capacity…👀, State Trustees that attracts low quality accountants or similar (bc no one wants to work at that toxic place), and some longterm tribunal members 👀

@anmf_federal I had my life and limb saved 10 months ago, after a vet insisted I see a GP over a cat bite. I was stunned when he rang the hospital and agreed with the plastic surgeon for me to present at emergency. This early intervention and 2 days of intravenous antibiotics kept me safe. 1/

@karenmitchell__ This is why the OPA and State Trustees had no qualms about scorning VCAT’s G&A list. Many of the older members whose careers were built scheming with them are retiring,& the fresh batch of mbrs appear to have greater integrity. 💡
