I did it! I made my very first game! Took part in the 13th PirateSoftware game jam, that lasted for 2 weeks. Theme: Do No Harm. Rules: no premade assets, code, downloaded sounds. Everything must be made during the jam.

Taking part in my very first solo game jam. 3rd overall, but I usually do art. This time I am learning to code! Theme is "do no harm". These bunnies refused to cooperate. Wanted to make them slerp rotate, but will leave it as is.

@kick remove Game Development from IRL, please! It should be in the same category as software Development, but you can't find it in Creative while browsing.
Figured out how to make a talk button appear and diappear and implemented camera change while talking. Next: a book-like UI with objectives, items and her drawings.

@PirateSoftware@kick This link doesn't go anywhere, at least for me on my phone. Last time I tried to find that category via browsing I couldn't. You can only get to it by typing it into the search. But it did show in currently live channels though.
@Strange_Heroes@BarrierXI@GreyAlien@_cas_prince_ It depends on how much you changed and if you tried to create a new character or just draw an existing one in a different way. It also needs to pose no financial harm to the original, which ai fails to do.
@Strange_Heroes@BarrierXI@GreyAlien@_cas_prince_ You are right, if you post online, you consent to people seeing it, not to your art being used to develop a for-profit tool. I don't mind ai art, I mind it being trained on copyrighted art.
@jkorenman@mgravish Not a single horse was used to invent a car. It was an independent invention. Ai wouldn't even exist without artists in current state. I think you should only use legally obtained data in app development. An ai is an app basically.
@ecutruin@ArucardPL_Art@ZakugaMignon@TheBrianPenny@Steam Developing a tool for profit or to be used by others for profit using copyrighted material you don't have the right to use is the problem. Any app should be developed only using legally acquired data.
@DarshanRajguru5@Rahll And you still can't say you cooked the dish. Plus you hire people to work for you, pay them, and they have a choice to even apply (let you use their work for your profit). Ai doesn't hire artists whose work it uses. It's exploitation.
@Strange_Heroes@BarrierXI@GreyAlien@_cas_prince_ Humans most times can't consciously choose to eliminate an influence of others' art on their own art. But building a tool (and profiting off it) using art of people who did not consent to it is different.
@Strange_Heroes@BarrierXI@GreyAlien@_cas_prince_ The style is not copyrightable, a picture is, but copyright doesn't last forever, Van Gogh died over 100 years ago, so his creations are public domain. Characters are IPs, fanart is illegal, but companies choose not to sue (except Nintendo).
@FreezeLanceDev I am only learning gamedev, that's why I want to really understand the code I am writing, that's why I'd rather use tutorials than cut corners with ai.
