The tragedy with mob justice is that the ones involved never actually witnessed what happened.A life was lost, yet they went home to their families & slept comfortably. I hope everyone responsible is identified & held accountable, especially the woman who kept shouting,’mumukube’
In Kampala,it's easy for anyone to lose his/her life to boda-boda gangsters. They own the Capital.
They're the ones incharge of the Capital. They can do anything they want & deem normal. They're untouchables. To them, mob justice is legal & normal way to deal with those they have disagreement with.Whether you're wrongly accused or not, theirs is to make sure that they finish your life in their convenient time.
Sydney deserves justice. Sydney should be the last price Uganda pays to such gangsters.
Hope his family, team, relatives & supporters get justice.
Rest well,Sydney.
I could write many words about Sydney Gongodyo, but they might not matter
A Rugby player with much life ahead of him; his life ended by an unjustified mob justice😪
This picture was taken on 5th Nov, 2023, the day @RugbyCranes won the Victoria Cup at @Kingsparkarena#RipSydney
The Budo League announces the passing of our beloved Sydney Gongondyo.
A proud member of @DujayFc and England House.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and teammates.
May His Soul Rest In Peace 🙏
To the Ruby community, the friends and family of Sydney, my commiserations to you during this trying time🙏🏾.
It must be even more heart wrenching to see the videos appearing on your timeline and knowing your person’s life was cut short in such a gruesome manner.
What pains me more is that he took it so gentle but the mob was never seeing thing this.....
No real thief gets such a space and does not run......but poor sidney tried to remain gentle bambi
I really despise the idea of mob justice. Even with the Okello Onyum case, I do not care how flawed the criminal justice system is. Once we live in a civilized society, there are simply some things we give up like taking power into our own hands.
A tough one to swallow over the weekend,
The passing of Robert "Majei" Aringo.
The rugby Fraternity has lost one,
The hard running Center (8th man for those who saw him grace the Saint Mary's jersey) takes a bow.
Condolences to @ImpalaRfc fraternity and his family and friends
As a Stanbic Pirates fan, I always enjoyed watching Sydney play. It's hard to put into words how tragic his passing is. When you truly love a sport, the connection goes beyond the game and extends to the players who give so much to it.
Rest in peace Sydney.
