📍 The Lake Kariba Border Demarcation Sensitisation has successfully concluded the first phase of a joint #Zambia–#Zimbabwe awareness campaign on 3 June 2026 in #Siavonga, 🇿🇲. The second workshop will take place in #Kariba, 🇿🇼, on 5 June 2026, ahead of the historic and first-ever lake waterbody border demarcation scheduled for 5 July 2026.
🤝 Organized by the @_AfricanUnion Border Programme (#AUBP) in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (@GIZAfricanUnion) and International Organization for Migration (@UNmigration), the workshops aim to strengthen community awareness, promote safe navigation practices, reduce the risk of accidental border crossings, and foster peaceful cross-border cooperation among communities sharing #LakeKariba.
🗺️ As preparations continue for the 1⃣5⃣th #AfricanBorderDay2026 celebrations on 7 July 2026, this initiative demonstrates the @_AfricanUnion’s commitment to transforming borders from barriers into bridges.🚤 The upcoming demarcation will mark a historic milestone as Africa’s first-ever lake border demarcation, contributing to safer livelihoods, stronger cooperation, and more effective border governance.

Did You Know: Zim's Macadamia exports grew by 53% between 2023 and 2025? The good news is that there is a high demand for Zimbabwe's macadamia. ZimTrade's work to facilitate Chinese buyer engagement in Manicaland will work to meet this demand while empowering farmers in Manicaland!

We are ending the Zim-China horticultural buyers engagement with deals signed!
The agreement is set to unlock market access for Zimbabwean chilies and macadamia nuts in the Chinese market. This kind of partnership will move Zimbabwe forward, empowering our local producers to enter one of the world's largest consumer markets.

75 years ago, IOM began where recovery and opportunity met.
Labor migration wasn’t designed on paper - it emerged from human need.

At the Zimbabwe-South Africa Cross Border Coordination Meeting, the Consul General of Zimbabwe to South Africa, Eria Phiri reaffirmed the Gvt of Zimbabwe’s commitment to safeguarding our most precious assets, our children.
The establishment of the Passport and Birth Certificate office at the Johannesburg Consulate is a significant step towards ensuring Zimbabwean children can travel safely and legally across borders.
To all guardians, we urge you:
DO NOT compromise on safety. No journey is worth the risk of your child's well-being. Ensure they have the essential documents they need to cross borders securely. Let's work together to protect our future generations #ChildSafety #SecureBorders
