@nelotsak In short I would say prediction interval is a type of confidence interval. The only difference is PI predicts future values to fall in a range while CI is the likely range of values to cover the actual value. The true value may or may not fall in the range.
@nelotsak Confidence Interval tells how likely a range of numbers would contain true value. While prediction interval is the estimate of an interval in which future observations will fall, given the observations were already observed.
