It was such a pleasure to host such a visionary scientist using engineering solutions to fix big healthcare challenges in a truly collaborative manner!
Incredibly stimulating visit to @Stanford today to give a special grand rounds seminar and short dinner presentation for the annual awards event in the Department of Anesthesiology, Periooperative and Pain Medicine. Super busy day, starting with a 6 am presentation (~30 in person and ~150 in attendance by Zoom) and ending with a dinner and a poster session, followed by a catch-up with Prof. Sid Krishnan (former PhD student and new faculty member @Stanford in the Department of Electrical Engineering). I deeply appreciate the invitation from Prof. @NimaAghaeepour to visit – thank you, and as well to Prof. @TawfikLab, Prof. @DrSeanMackey (Division Chief, Pain Medicine) and Prof. Brian Bateman (Chair of the Department), for hosting! Thanks also for the Sunday dinner, and for spending time with me earlier today. I really enjoyed the dense collection of back-to-back meetings throughout the day – Prof. Javier Lorenzo, Prof. Anoop Rao, Prof. Charles Brown, Prof. @TheBorisLab, Prof. @BGaudilliere, Dr. Philip Chung, Dr. @kirsten_steffner, Dr. Tomin James, Prof. Jean-Louis Horn (Division Chief, Regional Anesthesia). Finally, thanks to Barbara Chargin for the arrangements. Great interactions also with the many students and trainees associated with the department – exhausting but exhilarating! Congratulations to everyone on their awe-inspiring work! Looking forward to many collaborative follow-ups!
How cool is this?!
Greg & I were postdocs together- he taught me so much & remains a great friend/mentor/sounding board & now we just published back to back papers in @NatureNeuro !!
Congrats @FlyBottleEscape 🤩

@AmynahPradhan The best part about research/academia is staying connected to amazing people over many years!
@AmynahPradhan was the first graduate student I had ever met when I was a very clueless undergrad in a lab for the 1st time. So much fun to be back together again 🤩

7 yo: Mama- did you know the brain🧠 is a muscle?
Me: No it isn't
7 yo: Yes it is, if you exercise it then it gets stronger!
Me: Yes...but it's not a muscle
7 yo: How do you know?
